Who says we have too many point guards?

Post by Papalrep »

OK, Thibs, because he's trying to trade Ricky.

But I am watching Boston play the Lakers, and the Celtics have Avery Bradley (hurt), Marcus Smart, Isiah Thomas, and Terry Rozier all listed as PG's. They are rotating the three healthy PG's in tonight's game.

Why don't we just go with Rubio, Tyus and Dunn, rotate them in and out, let the chips fall where they fall, and not worry about a trade at this point? Being loaded up on guards isn't hurting the Celtics.

Of their main 3 of Smart, Bradley and IT, 2 of them can shoot the ball. If either Dunn or Ricky could shoot you'd see them play more together but right now it'd be like playing Marcus Smart next to Marcus Smart. It won't work.

It's a worthwhile point though. With so many teams playing combo guards there is no reason not to play Tyus and Dunn more now with Lavine out.
