It'll be an even better time to be a Wolves fan once the preseason finally ends. It seems like it's been a couple years since we last watched a game.

Its easily one of the biggest no-brainer questions is picking Towns if you are starting a franchise. Some folks I heard or talked to even late last season didn't have him there but IMO if that's not your pick...I am not sure what rock you are living under.

I continue to be legitimately baffled by the range of people from fellow rookies to NBA GMs to pundits and even fairly casual fans that pick Dunn to be ROY. With Simmons out of the picture it certainly is really up for grabs but just don't see how people just pick him. Maybe its people aren't sold on either Rubio or Lavine so they figure he will get on the floor one way or another. I know I was supposed to be optimistic, but I just don't get it. Its nice ot have people excited about one of our young players though obviously.

I can't imagine GMs taking these surveys seriously and thinking hard before giving those answers. Just spewing out some generic popular names.

As good as all this hype and potential is, this year comes down to one thing: making the playoffs. Every great team starts out by taking a step. The step for this team is exorcizing this awful playoff drought demon, and more important gaining post-season experience while energizing the fan base. Last season the couple games I attended I wasn't sure if I was in Target Center or a morgue. Apathy has officially set in, and a lot of the younger fans aren't even old enough to have experienced the atmosphere in Target Center circa 2003.

Hope springs eternal, but man it's time to actually get it done.

As far as Dunn goes, I'm keeping the faith. A lot of smart people are super high on him, so it seems unlikely that they all turn out to be wrong and he busts. Thing is, we need him to come along sooner than later. While I like Tyus, the verdict is still out on him as a backup, and Rubio has proven to get injured, not to mention have games where his offense is non-existent or he picks up quick fouls. To make the playoffs in a once again tough West, we will need something out of Dunn sooner than later. I wouldn't mind seeing Thibs give him more minutes with the starters these last two pre-season games to try to bolster his confidence a bit.

The biggest surprise for me is Durant being the second player choice for starting a franchise. I'd take Kawhi over him easy. Davis and the Greek freak would be my 3rd and 4th choices.

But isn't that kind of the point, Brooklyn? When was the last time so many Wolves (KAT, Wig, Zach, Ricky, Dunn, Thibs) were included in the "generic popular names"? I think the answer is "never".

My 48 win prediction assumes getting very little except defense from Dunn. If he becomes the ROY, my projection is low.

Yeah everyone is picking the wolves as the up and coming team, so this survey was probably done by an assistant in a matter of a few minutes.

Oh wait, optimistic comments? 8 more years and these guys won't even be 30 yet!

I agree Mstermisty but I think it's going to be close. Utah, Denver, Portland....there are some damn good young teams just below the top tier of Golden State, Clippers, and San Antonio. Hell, even OKC did a decent job of re-loading after Durant abandoned ship. The problem with them is that if Westbrook goes down for any extended stretch, they are done.

If Dunn gets minutes for ROY it means that Rubio didn't play for whatever reason, and in that case you can throw your 48 win prediction straight into garbage can.
