Richard Jefferson?

Post by kurrdog53 [enjin:7013678] »

Would anyone be opposed to bringing in Richard Jefferson as a FA bench player? Not sure what he will cost since he is playing well in the playoffs, but it looks like he still has some athleticism and can shoot. I am thinking of him replacing Tayshaun where some nights he might get 25 mins, but mostly would get 8-15 minutes. Thoughts?

Nope. Yes he is playing good but it us easier to play good when you are the last option the defense need to focus on and and when you are playing with lebron

I thought his career was coming to a close a few years ago... he keeps bouncing from team to team though... finding a bench role with each of them.

He turned himself into a decent enough three point shooter (on mostly wide open looks) to make it in this new NBA... and keep getting paid. Good for him.

As for on the Wolves... meh. As noted, he's basically a glorified T. Prince. He's signed for only about $1.5M each of the past two seasons. So that's a bargain. But he also seems to be picking-and-choosing carefully where he's going. Looking for a ring? (He won't be in MN when that finally happens)

Like Abe said he keeps signing for next to nothing and is a bargain. He can shoot and hit 3's and he isnt broken down physically yet. I said the Cavs were getting a nice upgrade when they signed him last offseason. I don't know why he we leave te Cavs as they will have a chance at a title for the next however many years and he probably isn't going to chase an extra couple million at this point of his career.

I'd like to add him to the Wolves for the vet min and maybe he would like to come to a young exciting team with a couple passing PGs in Rubio and Tyus to throw him a couple lobs and set him up for easy shots. I doubt it though.

Thibs is going to play Wig 38 minutes a night and Zach and a possible free agent are going to get at least that. That leaves less than 20 minutes a night for Bazz and anybody else playing wing. Don't see how Jefferson fits.

Anthony Bennett is a better, cheaper option here :thumb:

LOL. If Elaine was here, she would yell "Get Out!" while pushing you.

Ha. Have you ever seen that documentary, "Searching for Sugarman"? It was awesome. I have a feeling there might be a similar one about Bennett in 5 years.

LOL. Could be. There is a station in M/SP that I listen to on the internet called "The Current". They play that song a lot considering its age and relative low sales. I thinks its a good song.
