Post by bleedspeed »

So we got the 1st pick and the Lakers jumped to 2nd and 76ers land in third.

Let the games begin.

Strangely I am debating if this is a good thing. I really like Russell as the best player in this draft.
I really want Russell out of this draft so I would have been happy at #3. Has anyone ever had the last 3 consecutive #1 picks on a team?

The Minnesota Timberwolves are now on the clock. Flip, take all the time you want!

Not quite all, the Vikings have tried that once before.

This is exactly how I am feeling right now, its quite a strange feeling indeed. Only way we take Russell is if we traded back with the 76ers? I'm trying to envision a scenario*, but it doesn't seem very plausible. I am happy we didn't fall to 4th I might have shed a tear if that had happened.

*But they've got Hinkie so you never know

I really like Russell too, but we need a big in the worst way or this team will never be any good, and there are some bigs with a lot of talent at the top of this draft.

We just need to get the best player. To me it's a three man race between Towns, Okafor, and Russell. Flip and his team need to nail this. If they do things are looking great for us.

With the game moving away from the C and moving towards the three point shot, Russell may make the most sense. If we have a good offer for Rubio I would strongly consider it.

Thanks for posting, looks like we now have reason to be opTIMistic!

Condolences to Flip for his dad's passing.

Side note...all the tanking finally pays off! And is it bad that the elation is in that we didn't LOSE draft position, because we've still never gained draft positioning.

Clearly Glen has more luck than I did doing the realgm/ESPN draft lottery machines.
