Today's ESPN Headline...

Post by AbeVigodaLive »

"How luck finally bounced Lakers' way"

Whew. I can't think of any franchise with worse luck than the Lakers over the past 3+ decades. It's really the feel-good story of the draft lottery last night. Finally... the Lakers catch a break!

I mean they've had to endure TWO less than successful draft lotteries in the past 30 years. They haven't gotten super lucky like the Wolves time and time again over their first 18 trips to the lottery.

The other narrative is how incredibly unlucky the Knicks are. ESPN sucks plain and simple. They only care about a few big market teams.

National media as a general rule sucks, sports or otherwise. On the other hand ESPN makes money by getting people to click on links. If every Minnesotan clicked one link and half of LA clicked another, LA will have made ESPN more money. Such is life, no point getting worked up over it as it's not as though ESPN represents journalism!

It's part of the game. It's click bait as you mention. I generally don't play the 'woe is us' game when it comes to respect.

I just found it amusing. Maybe it's because I dig NBA history so much that the headline stood out like it did.

Watch out for the Lakers. Towns, Randle, Love, Kobe, Rondo....They could rebuild in a hurry.

Don't forget Durant and Anthony Davis coming there soon, too.

And doesn't KG have a place in LA? All those young bigs will need his mentorship, so I expect Flip to cut a deal with L.A. allowing KG to serve as LA's mentor on his "rest" days from the Wolves. In return, we get Byron Scott as an assistant coach and head-coach-in-waiting.

Byron Scott AND Flip Saunders? Awesome.

The end of the year party would be crazy. Imagine the fine jar for shooting 3 pointers in practice... it's gonna be huge, right?

I love how the narrative has changed today also, it was all year that ESPN said Okafor is the clear number 1 pick. Now today it has been Flip might be the only one in the world that would select Okafor at 1 and the Lakers are for sure getting the best player in KAT

You can be sure whoever the Lakers get will be called the best player in the draft.
