Interesting. The article talks about the Lakers working on this deal for awhile, and even including other teams. Why couldn't this just be a Cousins for the 2nd pick deal? I actually would prefer Okafor to Cousins, but I can also see easily making a case for Cousins if you ignore his personality.

Half the league probably wants Cousins. Obviously the Lakers have an asset that may give the Kings something to ponder but I would want the Lakers to really pay up if they wanted Cousins that bad but I'm a big fan of Cousins and wouldn't feel good about trading him to get Okafor and the Lakers would have to give me Randle #2 their later 1st rounder and maybe a future 1st to make be really consider it. If George Karl gets something going with that team it could be interesting especially depending on who they get in the draft.

If this is true what an absolute mess. What in the hell are they trying to do over there?

This report doesn't surprise me, monster. Karl is an experienced, successful NBA coach who knows what kind of players you win with...and it's not Cousins. This guy is a remarkable talent, but a franchise killer. I think we will see a deal this summer, and Cousins-supporters will be stunned at what the Kings get back for him. What a waste of a great talent.

The problem is that Cousins is a terrific player and they had a coach that was supposedly getting through to him in Malone but they dumped him because he wasn't playing the offense they want but they were playing winning basketball. The Kings have been making questions label decisions for a long time and now they want to dump Gay too which makes some sense because I don't think he is a winning player either but whatever. If the Kings are serious about trading Cousins I am not sure they get a package better than Okafor and whatever else they can squeeze out of the Lakers but Karl supposedly wants established players.
