60 games left, can we win 39

Post by maelstrom11 [enjin:6599701] »

Tim have you started looking at the Klunk O Meter yet? We need 39 wins to hit the magical 50. Here's a thought on how we get there

Utah - 3 wins
Phoenix - 3
New Orleans - 3
Lakers - 2
Sac - 3
Milwaukee - 2
Memphis - 2
Portland - 2
Houston - 2
Knicks - 1
Detroit - 1
Toronto - 2
Charlotte - 1
Atlanta - 1
Denver - 2
OKC - 1
Spurs - 2
Orlando - 1
Chicago - 1
Philly - 1
Clippers - 1
Dallas - 1
Boston - 1

That's 39 wins and doesn't seem to unrealistic barring we stay healthy

We could also get a win at home against Wizards and could get 2 against the bobcats rather than1 as we'll. 50 wins is very realistic.

Mael, I think we can get there too. Nice comeback win last night. This team is back at .500 so if we can stay at or above this level for the next few weeks, I think we can put together a run of 5 or 6 wins in January.

Without getting too much into the details, maelstrom (for instance, I don't see us beating the Spurs on their court), I agree with your premise. As many have pointed out, our schedule in January is a gift, and it's hard to imagine us being worse than 27-18. That 60% winning percentage projects to 49 wins.

Beyond the next 20 games or so, I haven't really analyzed the schedule, but 50 games seems like a stretch at this point. I feel like we're a 45 or 46 win team, which may put us on the bubble for the playoffs. And if we were in the Eastern Conference, we would probably be looking at 50-53 wins and a #3 seed. Amazing.

Ending the season with 45 or 46 wins and either barely missing the playoffs or losing our first round playoff series may not meet the aspirational hopes of most Wolves fans. But for me, that would be a huge accomplishment considering how much this franchise has shot itself in the foot over the past 10 years. Just to be able to put a competitive product on the floor night in and night out is a major step forward in my mind.

About 35%-40% of minutes played are played by a person that wasn't on our team last year. This team will get better as these guys play together a little bit.

With an easier schedule and a better team, we'll end up games over .500.

I'm thinking 45-37 and the 7th or 8th seed.

I just want to see us win 1 playoff game this year, that would be a successful season for me. Something to build on, baby steps. I hate the Big 3 term, but ours is still pretty young and we don't need to act like we need a championship before Adelman leaves.

This isn't something that is limited to the wolves situation. Players are moving around every off season, so several teams are going through the same process. That means they will be improving as well.

Very good SJM!!!!!!!!!........ you are working your way there!

Now, your next step is to understand that.....

It is also very obvious to any casual observer that the vast majority of teams that are competing for playoffs in the Western Conference are not dealing with as much variation in minutes played than the Wolves.

Before too long, you understand the very basics of basketball.......I have faith in you....keep it up!
