I feel like Lionel Hollins would be an amazing hire following the impending retirement of Adelman. It's hard to say when Adelman will call it quits, but I don't think anyone on the current coaching staff is an adequete replacement.
Hollins on the other hand would be a great fit. He has coached dominant big men before and shown to be a great defensive minded coach. His exit from Memphis was really weird to me and given his son is currently playing at Minnesota (senior, but still), he could have a soft spot in him for the state. It's something that's a long ways away, but I just read the below article and thought it was interesting.

Agreed. Hollins would be a terrific successor to Adelman.

Nice find Shahidi!
Really like what he had to say about seeing what is out there. Watching different types of offenses, and tailoring to your personnel. I really thought Memphis made a mistake letting him go, and like his aggressive nature. Would be a great get.
I remember reading that he had an issue with Hollinger. Supposedly Hollinger walked onto the practice court to speak with one of the players, and Hollins told him to leave. It was during practice, so I don't blame Hollins at all. As a coach you don't want disruptions during your time, particularly because practice time is somewhat limited during the season.

I'd be all for Lionel Hollins. Only worry is that he'll be scooped up this next off-season before Adelman retires.

Do you guys still believe anybody except Flip Saunders will be coaching this team when Adelman steps down?
Flip Saunders was an NBA coach for a long time. A lot longer than he was a GM. Why wouldn't he jump at the opportunity to do both? It's the type of power VERY FEW coaches have. And, possibly, the type of power even fewer would turn down.

I think Adelman has it written in his contract that his son will take over. He is obviously capable.
Re: Post Adelman - Lionel Hollins
Flip will be the head coach when Adelman departs. I've posted before and I'll re-state here my belief that Flip returned to Minnesota fully expecting to become the Wolves head coach after Adelman. He knew that Adelman wasn't going to be here for more than a year or two. When asked at his introductory news conference whether he intended to coach again, Flip dodged the question. He dodged it because he knew full well that his honest answer would have been an emphatic yes. Flip's decision not to hire Elston Turner was another sign of Flip's intent to coach. Turner would have been hired as Adelman's top assistant and heir apparent, but Flip said no and promoted Adelman's son instead. That wasn't to appease Rick Adelman because Rick was set to hire Turner. And hiring his old buddy from Washington as the Wolves GM ensures that Flip will have his guy in the front office when Flip returns to coaching.

Flip will come back to coach.
He'll be coach, VP of bball operations, and a minority owner.
Just let that sink in. If he stinks, there's literally gonna be nothing we can do. It will be a Flip dictatorship
