We got a chance tonight- Warriors GDT
A look at the standings and a review of the Wolves recent futility against the Warriors might lead one to believe this one might be a blowout. But there are reasons Vegas only has them as a 4 point favorite.
1) Golden State has lost 4 of their past 6, and their last two at home
2) Their two best rebounders, Lee and Bogut, are banged up, and will either not play or at least be limited. Without them, Pek and Love should have a field day inside.
3) Iguodala and Barnes are really struggling. Iggy is shooting 39% (!9% on threes) and averaging only 8.4 PPG his last five games, and Barnes' numbers the past five are even worse (24%, 30% and 4.6 PPG)
4) The Wolves are relatively healthy, with Martin expected to play and Shved also (if his protective mask arrives in time).
I think that if our two guys play, and their two don't, we steal a win tonight. It's likely to be a close game though, so they're going to have to learn to win a close one.
My enthusiasm for this club has returned a little, so I actually considered making the 5 hour trek up there to see the game. Common sense has returned, though, so I'll be watching on League Pass from the comfort of my living room.

Whoops, Cam and I out with early GDTs at the same time. I'm gonna leave mine up because of the information about Iggy and Barnes, but let's go with Cam's as the official.

Lol my fault LST! I was constructing my post and hadn't seen yours before I posted. You definitely beat me to it, though! Early birds get the worm.

We've seen this movie before. The Wolves are healthy, the other team is banged up, yada, yada, yada....And we come out flat or play well through 45 minutes and choke in the last 3. The only way this team is going to get a tough road win is to man up and play like their life depends on it from the first to last minute. No let up.
This team has been vexing to many of us. They lead the league in blowout wins and have one of the top 4 starting lineups in the NBA in terms of +/-. They are Top 10 in the NBA in both defensive and offensive efficiency. By all accounts, they should be a top 5 or 6 team in the Western Conference. But they collapse like a house of cards when things get tight late in games. Time for that to end.

Big opportunity tonight. They need a break through game. I'd like to see Mbah a Moute as the first sub off the bench, and have him guard either Curry or Thompson, depending on who is hurting us more. With the Warriors big guys hurting, if we can slow down even one of those two players I think we have a great chance.
Then again, it's the Wolves. They invent ways to lose games. But lets hope that changes tonight.

I was thinking the same thing, misty, except I actually wish they would start Luc and put him on Thompson. Then, I would put Ricky on Curry and let Martin guard the slumping Iggy.

Dallas gets the klunker tonight. After the Suns anti-klunker against Portland, the KOM forecasts both teams to finish 51-31 for the season. With the Wolves looking at 47-35, they need to get some unexpected wins, like tonight.
