Rondo? Never mind. How about Jeff Green?

Post by Papalrep »

It sounds more and more like with Rajon Rondo's return and a ceremonial bestowing of captaincy the Celtics plan to keep Rondo and try to get him to extend. It makes sense given the importance of point guards. More executives think the Celtics want to trade Jeff Green. They're probably trying to persuade someone to take Gerald Wallace along with Green, though many figure they'll eventually move Green. A nice exchange could be for Omer Asik, giving the Celtics a point guard/defensive center core to move forward with along with Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk. And Houston could use Green as a stretch four scorer.

I have been saying we should trade for jeff green back in the off season. He would have been an ideal 3 to play alongside love and pek and give us a wing who can catch alleyoops from rubio.

That said, i cant see us having anybody the celtics would want outside of the core 3 of love/rubio/pek.

The Celtics would be in full rebuild mode if Green is gone so maybe picks and a guy like Brewer would be all it takes. Could the Wolves afford another contract worthy of Green tho?

Dont think we can trade our 1st until 2016. Green has been the celtics best player so far this season. it would take more than brewer to get him. They are looing at asik, brewer is no where near the value of asik.

Green is on the books for 8.7mil, 9.2mil, and has player option 9.2mil the year after. I doubt he gets that kind of money as a FA so he's overpaid. He also doesn't add that many wins to our team. When you consider what we'd have to move to land him I just doubt it would be worth it.
