Freeagents left.

Post by Squishypoo [enjin:6648839] »

Leandro Barbosa

Marquis Daniels

Rip Hamilton

Daequan Cook

Xavier Henry

Lamar Odom

Mickael Pietrus

Jery Stackhouse

Deshawn Steveson

Hedo Turkoglu

Luke Walton

Corey Maggette

Just to name a few guys without a team as far as i know.... I think our bench could use some new blood. I know these guys on the list are not great but porb better then the likes of Shved/AJ/Shabazz.. Seeing how Bazz is getting no play time anyhow i think the PS is the beast place for him to be. Maybe take shved with him... Josh Howard came in a few years back and did a pretty good job playing tell he got hurt..

Josh Howard would be ok, but you have to wonder how much those knees can take. Same goes for Pietrus, Stackhouse, Stevenson and Hamilton. You don't replace an injured player with an old, injury prone player. We learnt that the hard way last year.

Daequan Cook is playing over in the Ukrainian League and is shooting a woeful 15% or something like that.

Xavier Henry was signed by the Lakers in the offseason, but I thought he would of been a good pick up in the offseason.

Leandro Barbosa would be a good addition, always liked his game and he can score in bunches.

I really liked James Johnson as a combo forward but he was signed by the Grizzles yesterday. Would have been a good replacement while Cunningham's out. Was killing it in the D League.

What about Chris Johnson? He played well for us last season.

I understand the conrens of injury pron players,But thats the nice thing about none guarantee contracts.. The player comes in hungry looking to prove he still has what it takes... I was hoping they would of tryed to get Stephen Jackson here he would of been a nice scoring bench player with nice size that plays some ok D.. But LAC got him and are close to getting Odom back aswell..

I say we roll with what we have.

Bud should be back by the early new year and Turiaf won't be far behind. Those two instantly make our bench so much better.

I'm not too concern about Cunningham's injury, I felt he was getting too much burn anyhow. Dieng and LRMAM will get more minutes and both have played well recently.

Shved's also starting to find some form the last few days, as has Barea and Hummel. Price is no mug either.

If we did sign someone I would be ok with giving Chris Johnson a two week contract. He knows the system and his athleticism would be a great addition.

I'm with Kiwi, while I don't think Bud and Turiaf will make a big impact, at least it's a couple more bodies to rest the starters and I think our overall bench play will improve.

Couple things

1. There was a thread on here a while back about how the Wolves need to improve their eFG% (47%) to improve as a team. Bud's is 51%, Brewer is 46%, and for all the love he gets as a offensive juggernaut to the point that everyone ignores his defense, Martin is also 51%. So when people say Bud won't make a difference, what exactly am I missing?

2. Isn't Daquan Cook one of only two players to play more minutes than Blonde Ricky and have a worse shooting percentage? Isn't the other Eddie Griffin? How long before you guys want him back? Too soon?

3. As far as signing someone, and with the Wolves at 15 players, don't they have to wait until after the trade deadline to sign 10 day deals?

Is any of the veterans on the list at the start of this thread willing to take a 10-day deal? I can't see any of them taking it.

Maybe not. Are 10 day contracts even allowed right now? And who put Odom on the list? That's hilarious. And doesn't Henry actually play for the Lakers?!? And Turkeyglue is TECHNICALLY still with the Tragic. They will buy him out 1/10/14 if they can't find something they want in trade for him.
