If the season ended today

Post by Lipoli390 »

If the season ended today, the Wolves would be in the lottery and would not have a first round pick. The worst of all possible outcomes. No first round pick because the pick Kahn traded as ransom to get the Suns to take Wes was only top 13 protected, not lottery protected. But the good news is that the season is not over today and has a long way to go.

Watch this be the year the Wolves miss the playoffs by ONE game and actually win the lottery... Only to not have that pick because it belonged to the Suns due to Kahn being a giant jackass.

Cam -- Actually, if we won the lottery we'd get to keep the pick since the pick would then become a top 13 (top 3) pick. But no doubt about Kahn's idiocy last year that led to the Wes Johnson deal. Other than selecting Johnson in 2010, Kahn's stupidity last year was his commitment to sign Roy. It was that decision that ultimately put him in a position where he had to give away a first round pick in a desperate effort to clear cap space to extend an offer to Batum and ultimately sign AK47 when the unduly long Batum debacle finally ended. Had Kann not committed over $5 million to Roy, he would not have been forced to dump Johnson's contract, which means he would not have been compelled to give away our 2014 first round pick.

It was Kahn's arrogance more than stupidity. He thought he was smarter than the rest of the League in believing Roy could still play. It was similar to his belief that he was smarter than the rest of the League regarding Darko, leading him to give Darko a guaranteed multi-year contract when no other NBA team wanted to sign him at all.

The thing I hate most about the Flip era is the lack of home game reports. I miss those Kahn era game reports..

I'll have a game report tonight. Problem is that I'm in a Wednesday night tennis league thru December and can't make all these Wednesday games until January. But I will be at all the other home games and post Flip era game reports.

Just so you know -- if we lose tonight and you don't see a game report, you should check out the news for a report of a Wolves fan who jumped to his death in despair -- leaving behind a one-word note: Kaaaaahn!!!!!!!
