Disagreements! Debates! -- Tracker
I think it'd be fun to track how certain arguments on the board go through the season. For example, if someone said a player was better than another and someone disagreed. A team maybe being better than a different one. Maybe even with the Wolves and how their season goes. Just something fun to keep up with if people wanted to. I know this thread could very well get overlooked, but I think it'd be fun to keep up with.
It's like being with your buddies or co-workers and getting into a sports argument. Both sides make their points, but not every time do they remember it later in the year or put a conclusion on the debate. I'm not trying to piss anyone off here lol. Let's make that very clear.
I don't know or can't remember all of the good, specific debates that have happened on here so some help would be needed. Just some debates that have recently happened that I was a part of:
-Tristan Thompson Vs Derrick Favors (kahns2k5 and I)
-Bradley Beal Vs Trevor Ariza (markkbu and I)
-Timberwolves Vs Pelicans (sjm34 and I)
I know there are PLENTY more. Debates and sports talk are what make forums like this fun to post in! Post any that you can remember below. We'll track them all season.

Pelicans start out the year 0-2. Losses against Indy and Orlando. Bobcats tonight. Will they go 0-3?
Re: Disagreements! Debates! -- Tracker
The pelicans are a very young team, and as such, I expect them to improve throughout the season. You might want to tune into the game tonight, and witness the beginning of the next Franchise player in the league. Davis is like a combination of KG and TD all rolled into one. He has 12-5 and 2 blocks in the 1st quarter already.

Pelicans Update:
Just lost tonight by 21 against the Lakers we just thrashed. 3-5 record. Lost twice to PHO; once to LAL, ORL and IND. Wins over LAL, CHA and MEM. Haven't been impressed with the Pelicans at all, even with Davis playing very well. Next four games could be very telling. If they're a playoff team, they should win at least three out of these four. Utah, Philly, Utah, Cleveland.
Favors Vs Thompson Update:
*Favors- 13 PPG, 10 RPG, 1.6 BPG. 44% FG, 63% FT.
*Thompson- 13 PPG, 10 RPG, 1 BPG, 46% FG, 76% FT.
Brad Beal Vs Trevor Ariza Update:
*Beal- 21 PPG, 3 APG, 4 RPG. 42% FG, 48% 3pt, 67% FT.
*Ariza- 15 PPG, 3 APG, 7 RPG. 40% FG, 40% 3pt, 58% FT.

Cam, anytime that you post beal's and ariza's stats, just post their TS%, eFG%, and WS (or WS/48) also. It'll save me time, and that way you can just prove yourself wrong without my involvement.

I remember that debate.
You did your usual schtick. And, you used a bunch of advanced stats from last season to prove Ariza was one of the top 3 players on Washington. Then, I pointed out that using some of those same stats that Gortat, Nene and Wall were better... bumping Ariza down to #4.
Fun with stats.

And you learned that despite your best attempts to belittle Camden about Washington's "top 3" players according to your criteria... you were wrong.
Ariza was actually 5th. I forgot Martell Webster also posted better stats in a lot of those same advanced metrics you love so much.

LMAO, Webster.........i never knew you for a Webster fan. You know that Nene and Webster have played significantly (about 40%) less time than those other people that we are talking about, right?
See Abe, if you blindly look at advanced stats and don't bother to put them into context, people might end up with the same conclusion that you just came to using them.
This is a perfect example of people using advanced stats very poorly. Interesting that you would provide such an effective example.
