Don't know where to put this, but I'll throw it here and see if it gets a reaction. Not a big fan of this, but it is something I'd think about:
NYK: Chandler, Bargnani, Shumpert
MIN: Pekovic, Mbah a Moute, Barea, Shved
-Rubio
-Martin
-Brewer
-Love
-Chandler ($14.6M expiring; 31 years old)
-FREE AGENT (Steve Blake?)
-Shumpert (FA 2016; 23 years old; defensive stopper, average shooter, athlete)
-Budinger
-Bargnani ($12M expiring; 28 years old; post scorer)
-Turiaf
Use the MLE on Blake this off-season. Give this a go next year. If it doesn't work, Chandler and Bargnani come off the books anyways. Re-sign Love and we'd still have space to work with. Let Love choose who he wants to bring in. Maybe we re-sign Chandler for a more reasonable deal (3 year/$27M?)
New York gets a piece to add to Melo and Hardaway in Pekovic while taking back three expirings themselves (Barea, MaM, Shved). Amare's deal ends after next year so they can use his cap space to sign someone to pair with Melo/Pek/Hardaway. Maybe Rondo?
Trash it. Comment on it. Tell me if I'm wrong with numbers.
Trade With The Knicks?
Re: Trade With The Knicks?
I don't have any numbers to give you Cam but I don't think this would make Love happy. Chandler isn't the dominant defensive force he was in previous years, still he is way better than any of our players. Bargs is straight garbage

The only way I'd make this deal is if Hardaway Jr. was included which I don't think is unreasonable considering Pek's dominance in the offensive paint. Shump has been pretty disappointing this season.
I admit I'm only posting this to include this video of Bargs, Bill Simmons had it in his worst contracts article and I found it very funny.

I watch the Knicks on an almost nightly basis.
The Knicks would take this deal and run because all three of Chandler, Bargnani and Shumpert are subpar.

I've watched a bunch of Knicks ball too the last several years including this one. I still see above average defenders in Chandler/Shump who are good athletes (above rim). Bargnani would be a big time upgrade over DC at backup PF.
Like I said to begin the post, I'm not a huge fan of this trade, but I see it as one I'd have to think about. I think the bench gets upgraded quickly and the starting lineup gets a quality starting center who can alter shots.

Re: Trade With The Knicks?
This seems like a pretty fair trade which is probably why you aren't a huge fan, most trades on here end up pretty lopsided in our favor. The only change I'd make is to trade Bud instead of Shved or Barea. I think Barea as an expiring could be moved but I don't see any chance a team would trade for Bud.
