Josh Smith headed to Houston

Post by Eitan »

AT least he will play with Corey ....

Wow, The west is becoming stronger and stronger (Rondo & Smith) and the East - weaker.

It`s going to be intersting to see how Smith will fit with Rockets.

In my opinion he is going to ruin their chemistry and I`m not sure the Rockets will be better with him.

I hope he's a stud for them. And then I hope Flip would go after Terrence Jones really hard.

Who would you rather have Cam, Thad Young or Terrence Jones, with everything considered (contracts, injury, etc..)

I like Terrence Jones also, but I don't know how we get him. Possible Mo williams, Thad and a second for Jones and Cannan

Nevermind that does not work salary wise, Thad, Mo, GR3 and a few 2nds for Jones, Terry, Pappanicoli (sp)

Stein tweeted a little bit ago that Houston was looking to dump one of Joey Dorsey, Tarik Black, ISAIAH Canaan, Nick Johnson and Clint Capela to make room for Smith. I would take Canaan off their hands for a second round pick in an instant if we had the roster spot. He could have been a replacement for Mo going into next year as the backup PG who could boost the second unit scoring. He also shoots a lot of 3's and makes over 40% of them.

Cannon would be the only one I would want but I would give a second for him. Just thinking though how bad has the wolves organization been, we drafted Montiejuines and Mirotic (bulls) also Chalmers would be a great back up PG and we sold them all away,

The money would have to match, and it would have to be worthwhile to Houston. We like T-Jones because he's a good two-way ball player who's cheap and young. That's not something you give away.

Kevin Martin for Terrence Jones and Jason Terry seems plausible to me, assuming Martin and Jones are back healthy.

Houston could go Harden/Martin, Ariza/Brewer, Smith/Motiejunas, Howard/Black. Martin fits their system well offensively (3s and frees) while having plenty of good defenders around him to cover up his mistakes.

We get Jones, who I think actually would be a huge building block for us. We play with Wiggins and Muhammad at the wings for the rest of the year. Terry could be bought out so he could find a contender. He's just a contract filler to make the deal work.

Edit: This would also make Thad Young a valuable trade chip for a different deal. Also, it would truly allow Flip to take BPA in the draft without worrying about adding a PF. And I don't believe in Bennett. I think his option could (and possibly should) very well be declined if he doesn't turn it on in the second half of the season.

Ya I edited the trade because I saw it wouldn't work, I think we could flip Terry into a solid piece

I wouldn't even care what we did with Terry. The prize would be Jones at 22 years old who's trending upwards and fits perfectly with this team's so-called identity.
