Brewer Back on the Block
I get it. The season is completely lost, might as well get some sort of tangible asset for the future. For what it's worth, I still think he does give us a really valuable asset by helping to set a strong work ethic for the young guys. But reluctantly, I get it.
Still, the thought of trading Corey Brewer brings me almost to tears. I'm serious. I'm totally aware of his faults as a player but there's never been another player who embodies what I love most about basketball--the sheer, unadulterated joy of playing through your limitations as hard as you possibly can with your teammates every, single, second. If more people approached their lives like Corey Brewer approaches basketball, the world would seriously be a better place.

Very well said Drew. I just hope the rumors of the Knicks second round pick coming our way are just that, rumors.

Well if we get a future first from Dallas or Cleveland it will probably be a late first rounder that we will sell for second round picks, so getting that early second rounder may save Flip a few calls

I m guessing Brewer requested this trade. It is rumored he might be willing to waive his 4.7M player option for next year to the team that acquires him. I would want enough in return for Brewer that we can dump Bud.

Not moving Brewer just to dump Bud. I'd only trade Corey for a 1st or a young player with promise, preferably a big.

Agreed Bleed. Because I think Brewer's value as an example of professionalism (on a team that's desperate for it) is more important than a flier on a 2nd round pick down the line.
But I can see him wanting out for a chance with a much better team.

Agree with Drew's sentiment. Hard not to love the guy. I suppose that's why other GMs are interested in him - it's easy to overlook all the faults when the guy plays so damn hard 100% of the time.
I've always felt that of the wings we had, he was the best one to trade because he came off a career year last season, preceded by a couple of decent years as a reserve in Denver. Teams know that if he's surrounded by other really good players, he can be a real plus. So I agree with Cam and others that Flip should absolutely drive a hard bargain for his services.

I was excited too when I heard we were getting Brewer back last year. Great guy and undervalued, but no sense now in keeping him here, hopefully we can find a team that would take Bud too.

Re: Brewer Back on the Block
I wonder if Turiaf has not been cut yet because they might need him in a trade. Can he be traded to a team and cut without dropping someone on there roster? Houston might be a good target for a Turiaf trade for young big and in return we trade them Brewer for a pick.
Re: Brewer Back on the Block
If we can dump him and Bud good riddance. We can get the same output for much cheaper.
