GR3 Needs more minutes

Post by TeamRicky [enjin:6648771] »

We need to give GR3 more minutes. We are rebuilding for the future. He can't be any worse than Bud, Bennett or Robbie given similar minutes as those guys.

Fun fact: GR3 and Ricky are the only two Wolves with a positive plus minus rating.

Not a large enough sample size for GR3 to know if there is any merit to that or not, but at this point, Flip needs to start taking some drastic measures. If GR3 is playing defense in practice and working his tail off, then yeah, play him.

I'd also add Daniels to the list, who after today's 0-8 is shooting 33%.

Well, the guys who have had opportunities aren't playing too well. GR3 deserves to show what he can do for a prolonged stretch and he's the kind of young talent you want to give playing time to in order to develop him for the future.

Agreed he needs more minutes, but where will those minutes come from? That's Flip's job to determine. I am a believer in GRIII, though. I like his role player potential. 3/D wing with athleticism and a willing team player. Only 20 years old too.

For a second I thought you were talking about Bennett

This guy has a wide frame, long arms and a small heart. Limited skill set. Low basketball IQ. Consistently inconsistent effort level. If you look at his shot chart, he's shooting the majority of his shots from 18 feet out instead of in the paint where he should be. Not only that, but his efficiency on that 18 footer is poor. Doesn't play fundamentally sound; no boxing out technique, zero post game for a big, not even a hook shot (which is the easiest post move in the history of basketball). Decline that guy's option this summer and move on without him. See, now I'm talking about Bennett.

Thad's option is up to Thad, isnt it? Same with Chase. Since they both suck, they will both pick up the option, it's the smart play for them. 14 million next year tied up in those two.

I think so. Reusse has an interesting read into today's Strib about some recent bad contracts in case you missed it: http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/287439511.html
