CoolBreeze's 2 Things I Didn't Like Tonight Plus 1

Post by Coolbreeze44 »

Had to watch the game late last night so didn't have time to share the 2 + 1 until now. The vomiting has stopped so I feel I can now digest what happened last night and share these thoughts:

1) If we were playing a legit NBA team last night, we would have gotten blown out by a ridiculous number. The only thing preventing the same last night is that the 76ers couldn't make open shots until the end of the game. And of course once they did the game was over. I just can't wrap my head around why this team is so horrendous on defense. We have athletes, we seem to work hard most nights, and Flip is no idiot. How can we not be at least below average?

2) Chase Budinger should be sampling cheese and cold cuts at your local super market. He certainly has no business being on a basketball court. Any time he takes away from our young core is a complete waste during this development season.

Plus 1 - There is no Plus 1 after that sorry performance. Our youth is still something to build on, but when it is exposed by injuries to the few veteran players you have you're in trouble. I don't like what is happening to Andrew and Zach right now. They are being thrust into roles they shouldn't be seeing at this point. Andrew is exactly what they said he was coming out of college - ready to be an NBA defensive player, but his offensive game needs work. He should be shooting open 3's or driving to the basket. He is making a nice percentage of 3 pointers, and he draws lots of fouls going to the tin even though he finishes sporadically. I really don't want him shooting mid-range jumpers at this point. It's not developed yet, and we have better options for those shots.

And that's CoolBreeze's 2 things I didn't like last night Plus 1

Guys, If I'm not going to get any feedback on these I have to assume they're not of much value. Please participate if you want me to keep it going.

Maybe you should make our apathy your 2nd point instead of idle threats.

I think you have got quite well feedback for your earlier reports but this Phillips game was so awful that it is difficult to find only 2 things to not like.:) Maybe this time it could have been CoolBreeze'a 100 things I didn't like tonight and plus one more that I didn't like.

What feedback do you want? It was one of the worst NBA games ever played. There's just nothing to talk about. Time to move on to the next game. You don't have to review every game when we are just getting beat night in and night out for the same reasons (especially for games with zero +1's to talk about). It's hard to believe that we keep getting worse because at some point you would think pride and anger would have to kick in and make us not completely worthless. If 12 games of Rubio-less basketball is enough to break this team mentally, then we are in big trouble moving forward.

Maybe feedback was a bad word choice. I guess active participation would have been better. I'm as busy as anybody else, and it takes some time to organize thoughts and put this together. I love doing it if it's worthwhile, but the lack of participation suggests it's not interesting to anyone but me.

The discussion will be there when a game actually warrants it. Right now there just isn't anything to talk about because the team is a joke. Once we stop getting blown out and have worthy +1's the discussion will come back.

I have no idea but there was no report or news of a local guy jumping off the ledge after last nights game so he is still with us. To lip's credit., he has been giving us in depth game reports for the past few years when we suck. Its not easy to root and maintain your enthusiasm for a team when we have 15,17 win seasons and a injuries after injuries to key players and its been going on for 10 seasons already.

Regarding last nights game. I was so angry last night with what I saw form the players and the team. After a day has passed, i just come to the conclusion that its really not the players fault. I meant 7 of the 12 active players are rookies/sophomores. 1 of them is a journeyman that just signed last weekend and the rest are vets that at this stage of their career are better off as bench rotation guys to end of bench guys. There just isnt much to work with with the lineup and talent that the current roster has. Losing your best 3 guys and best offensive weapons was a big blow.

At this point, on a talent standpoint, we are just bringing a knife to a gunfight every night.

Same could be said of the sixers in terms of talent but they where hungrier, have not won a game yet and are more desperate for a win and something to boost their morale. Last nights game was ugly to watch between two very bad teams but the sixers where bound to win one at some point and seeing us we are the two worst team in the league right now talent wise, Its only logical that they could win vs us.
