Pessimistic thread. Only negative posts allowed!

Post by alexftbl8181 [enjin:6648741] »

Just kidding of course. Not trying to come off as a hater, but I believe we as Wolves fans, are smarter and more realistic then other fan bases Cough~Lakers~ when it comes to basketball. I think we'll be pretty good in 3 years but this year are the reasons why we'll struggle with each player!

Rubio: The guy is a bad shooter. No doubt about it. Even if your in the camp that he'll improve with age, I don't think anybody thinks that he'll have a huge jump this year. His motion just seems to slow and jerky, kinda like launching a catapult. He'd be fine if he could have 5 seconds to shoot it, but that's not gonna happen. It will be interesting to see with Love gone, if there's enough scoring on the team where he won't be pressured to score that much.

Mo Williams: Guy was great last year. He's a better version of JJ. The problem was, I thought the Wolves needed more of a passing PG then a shooting one. The bench stunk not only because nobody could shoot, but it didn't even seem like they were running an offense. We'll see if Mo can actually run an offense.

JJ: The guy stinks. His value became a guy who gets you instant offense for a small stretch of time. He can't do that anymore. Not to mention he's got a bad attitude.

Lavine: I think his problem is going to come from fans expecting to much of him his rookie season. He's shown flashes for sure, but he also isn't used to this level of competition and grind. I hope Flip doesn't play him more then 10 minutes a game.

I'm pessimistic about our win total, but I don't care. I am going to thoroughly enjoy this season. Wins are going to mean a lot, and losses won't mean much at all. We will go through streaks where we play great, and some where you're ready to say the rebuild has already failed. The one thing that's going to frustrate me is watching JJ, Bud, and Martin play at the expense of development time for the younger players. I will have a short fuse when that happens.

I think they'll start off hot but hit a major roadblock later in the season. None of our younger players have gone though major minutes in a nba season. Rubio also wears down because he plays so hard

Glen Taylor sucks and has run this franchise as close to the ground as possible and somehow I am convinced that he will ruin any opportunity with this talented group of youngsters.

There's a chance we don't win a game in February. Hope you guys have vices when that time comes around.

Oh, I've got plenty of pessimism to spread around!

- We have two guys that are good at creating offense with both volume and efficiency in the half court. They are the same two guys that are the most prone to injuries.

- We lack shooters. It's nearly impossible to win consistently in the NBA these days without multiple guys that can knock down 3's. Oh, and Flip historically eschews the 3 for the open mid-range 2-pointer - which happens to be the worst shot in basketball.

- It will become apparent very quickly that Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins suck at putting the ball on the floor and getting all the way to the basket against NBA half-court defenses. Think Wes Johnson or Shabazz Muhammed. We better hope they turn into good shooters eventually. Speaking of last year's pick.....

- Shabazz Muhammed is skinnier - who cares!? He still can't dribble, pass, or go right - none of which a Navy SEAL training routine will fix. Like Wiggins and LaVine, we better hope he develops a consistent outside shot. That left-handed push shot will take him only so far and there really isn't anything else he can do.

- Mo Williams and Thad Young were mediocre last year. Mo because he's getting older and Thad because he was relied on too much. If we have to rely on these guys carrying a big load due to injuries/struggles with other guys, we're in trouble. They aren't cut out for it.

- JJ Barea is still on the roster. 'Nuff said.

- Ricky Rubio's shot won't be "fixed". It's too late. All we can hope for is slight improvement. Oh, and his lack of a contract will indeed be a distraction, as he visibly grows frustrated with yet another losing season.

- Anthony Bennett doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up.

- Gorgui Dieng.....Ah shucks, I can't say anything bad about Gorgs.

And that's a wrap!

I'm watching the Laker-Denver game. Neither team made the playoffs last year, and I am wondering how we can even beat them!
