I can understand why you say that, I like David Lee, I think he is one of the most underrated players in the NBA, but the trade really hinges on the development of Barnes (He is overrated), I just can't think of a trade where we will get better value for Love and I know I am in the minority here
Re: Two trades, that make us young and competitive
Any trade to GS has to start with Thompson and Green IMO.

Come on I am really disappointed in you guys. You forgot the angle that adding Barnes might make Hoiberg slightly more likely to come here. LOL
Re: Two trades, that make us young and competitive
If Golden State wants to compete for Love, it will have to start with Thompson. That is just reality. They do not have a lottery pick to compete with and while Lee and Barnes are nice pieces, the Wolves can do with or without them. Those 2 alone really cant compete with the pick that Boston or LA can offer up.

Re: Two trades, that make us young and competitive
Any deal with GS has to have Thompson and Barnes. I would do Lee, Thompson, Barnes and an unprotected first the first year possible for Love, JJ and Bud. We get an upgrade defensively at the 2 while keeping the offense, a solid starting 4 that really isn't that far behind Love's defensive efforts and a potential starting 3 pushing Brewer to the bench where he belongs. There should be a couple PG's or 4's available at 13 to fill one of those holes and use the MLE to fill the other. It's not ideal, but it isn't starting over either which I would prefer over having another possible 10 year drought.

Let's say the Wolves do trade Love/Budinger for Wiggins/Parker (hypothetically), then sign Pau Gasol (wants to start, make relatively big money and play with Rubio) and use own pick (13) on McDermott/Harris/Hairston..
...Then deal Pekovic/Martin to Cleveland for Waiters/Varejao/Gee. Cut Gee (non-guaranteed contract). Really fast rebuild if possible...
Rubio/Blake (MLE signing)
Waiters/Hairston
Wiggins/Muhammad
Gasol/Varejao
Dieng/Turiaf
You can do a lot worse in the NBA. I also think that team has a fighting chance at a playoff spot immediately.

Re: Two trades, that make us young and competitive
If the Celtics win a top-two pick in this year's draft, and are willing to ship Avery Bradley and Jared Sullinger to Minnesota with it...
...I'll help pack Kevin Love's bags. Bye bye. Have fun in the East.
Rubio
Bradley
Wiggins
Sullinger
Dieng
Could you imagine if we took Payne at 13 how hellacious that defense would be for the future? Yeesh.

Re: Two trades, that make us young and competitive
I would only trade Love for Wiggins and pieces. Jabari having problems staying in shape is a big concern for me given that his only job at this point is to get into shape for draft workouts. Combined with the fact that he isn't going to be much of a defensive presence and that just doesn't work for me for a top pick. I don't like draft picks that create as many holes as they fill and getting Jabari means we have to get a 3 and D SG or we are going to have even bigger defensive problems than we did this year.
