I'll give Flip all the credit in the world

Post by alexftbl8181 [enjin:6648741] »

I have zero doubt that if Mchale was still our GM, he would of traded for Love for Barnes/Lee/ 1st a long time ago. Khan probably would still have Love, only to blow the deal with the Cavs and end up with the Kings package.

I thought Flip should of got rid of Love a while ago. I was wrong. Just don't break my heart and mess this up

If McHale was here he would never trade Love. Book it. Of course Love would be less likely to want to leave too but whatever. Lol

It's so weird to think that something might actually work out for us. But now my abused Wolves fan mind is making me think that Wiggins is going to be a massive bust.

just for the record, there was a whole bunch of others who argued that Love's value would never get hire then before the draft. You know who you are

That was true but with a caveat, if Flip wanted draft picks. I didn't think he wanted draft picks. I believed that the idea that his value is highest before the draft but I also believed that Flip was all in on Golden State. Interestingly, if Wiggins is the end result, then the point won't really be disproved either; it was all a matter of what Kevin Love would agree to and when. For all we know, this deal has always been done, contingent on LeBron. For all we know, Flip said, if we did a deal, we would want Wiggins.

I also agree with the sentiment that McHale would not trade Love. I am willing to bet that Love would give McHale more time as well.

Well, I think you are partially right to be skeptical. I like Wiggins' floor, meaning I think he has a very low chance of being a bust. But I doubt he ever gives the level of sheer production that Love puts out. Love for Wiggins + fillers does not improve our team in and of itself, but it's not a bad consolation prize for the disappointment of losing Kevin Love.

Well, Love's production was great but he his defensive shortcomings were why he never made it to the playoffs. Wiggins could be both an elite defender and scorer. He's not a sure thing but if we get Wiggins, I'll be more excited for the Wolves future than any time since KG left.

This would work for all parties involved...

MIN: Wiggins' rights, Bennett, Hopson, Haywood, Varejao (with verbal agreement of declining team option) and Miami's 2015 1st round pick.

CLE: Love, Martin (from Ohio, reliable shooter)

Then we take on Terrence Jones from Houston for a couple 2nd rounders. Varejao gets a new deal with Cleveland after waiting however long he'd need to wait under the CBA. We come away with Wiggins, Jones, Bennett and 2015 MIA 1st and a little more wiggle room cap-wise.

No way Houston gives up Jones for 2nd round picks.
