Lakers must not actually want Love.

Post by TAFKASP »

The Los Angeles Lakers interviewed Kurt Rambis about their vacant head-coaching position, according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times. They are conducting a deliberate search to find a successor to Mike D'Antoni, who resigned last month.

probably just for PR reasons. I think teams do stuff like that all the time. They may already know who they plan to hire, but want to make it look like they are conducting a very wide search.

Kurt Rambis should never get another head coaching job again. As bad as David Kahn was (arguably one of the worst GMs of the modern era)... I think Rambis is right there with him on the coaching side.

I am pretty certain that Rambis has the worst winning percentage of any Wolves coach and considering who came before him early on in the franchise that impressively bad. 32 wins in 2 seasons is BRUTAL and yeah the roster may not have been that talanted but that's awful he should have at least been able to come up with a 20 win season if he was any good at all.

No coach in NBA history has a full 2-year track record that's worse than 32 - 132. Every other coach was fired before he finished Year 2.

That being said, he's not alone as an all-time craptastic coach.

Sidney Lowe was horrible in Minnesota. And Vancouver. And even in college. In my list of all-time worst coaches, I have Lowe just ahead of Rambis in the top spot because of his complete ineptitude at both levels.

Just another example of Flip dragging his feet rather than aggressively going after an excellent candidate :D .
