Flip coaching has no chance of ending up well

Post by alexftbl8181 [enjin:6648741] »

Flip coaching can go two ways. One if Flip coaches and the team ends up improving and maybe even do really well, is Flip really going to step down at that point and risk it with another coach? He'll end up coaching until the team starts sinking.

On the other and more likely hand, If Flip coaches and the team ends up sinking and looking like a long rebuild, would any hot prospect coach take it when the stock is at an all time low.

There is no good way it'll end

I agree with your take, Alex, but I also don't think we have to worry about it. While I have said from the start that Flip would not be coaching this team, I believe it more than ever now. Even Zgoda, who for weeks was saying he thought Flip would succeed Adelman, has moved away form that view. Flip has an ego, and likely knows that he would be deemed to have failed if he couldn't find a suitable coach other than himself. And we also know Glen doesn't want it. Good take, but not something I think we have to worry about.

Yeah Flip isn't stupid and if Love leaves it could be brutal and while Glen is pretty loyal he isn't going to live with losing and Flip quiting as coach (or Glen could just fire him for not being successful) while losing and going back to run the team makes the coaching position for the team really weird. I think Flip is going to prefer letting another guy be the one to lead this team as coach or worst case scenario be the fall guy. Coaching in this league is so brutal right now there is basically no job security.

Wolves haven't made the playoffs in a decade. He's been living with losing for quite a while now.
