Pek trade ideas
Pek trade ideas
First off I'm not sold on the idea of trading Pek. But I'm just curious to see people's ideas of what we could (realistically) get in return for him.
Pek + Barea to BOS for Jeff Green and Brandon Bass (expiring)?
Pek to CLE for Luol Deng (sign n trade)?
Pek to NOLA for Eric Gordon?
Pek to PHO for Gerald Green and Channing Frye?
Pek to POR for Nic Batum (with a swap of 2014 1st round picks)?

Re: Pek trade ideas
BOS: Not sure I'd want Green for the price of Pek unless they threw in a pic swap or something, which likely wouldn't happen.
CLE: Sign me up. Luol Deng's vastly underrated on both ends of the floor.
NOLA: Blegh. Makes more per year and isn't nearly as good. Doesn't help the defensive effort either. They'd have to even this deal out somehow.
PHO: Maybe, but I doubt they trade Green after getting him to reach his potential. Plus he fits exactly what Coach Horn wants to do, run and gun.
POR: Sign me up, but I don't see POR doing that. Batum's a huge piece to their success. Not to mention Rob Lopez has played pretty damn well this year.
Other Ideas (Not necessarily good ones):
Pek to PHI for Thad Young
Pek and Budinger to ATL for Millsap and L.Williams
Pek to OKC for Perkins, Lamb and 2014 draft pick
Pek + Barea to SAC for Gay.
I don't know. Just trying to think of ones to even talk about.

Bulls are about to sign Mirotic and try to sign Melo, possibly. Why would they want to give up a starter for a bench player?

Just an idea. couldn't think of anything else add a third team like new orleans and eric gordon goes to the bulls, Jimmy to the Wolves and Pek to the Pelicans. maybe the system Thib has can make E. Gordon an alright defender?

Pek, barea and budinger (bad contracts) for joe Johnson (bad contract). Not sure if Brooklyn would do it but it would balance out our roster nicely and free up our backup PG spot to bring in a PG that could actually um play PG.

Pek and JJ for Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson (If the Magic draft Marcus Smart)
Too good to be true?

I don't see Pekovic taking Vucevic's starting job, Vucevic can't play PF either. Tough to see that one happening. Would need a third team as well.

Re: Pek trade ideas
In order to take advantage of Pek's strengths and minimize his weaknesses you need a very specific type player at PF and both NO and OKC teams have it. The trades I'm leaning towards that I think have the best probability of happening are Pek for Lamb and Perkins or a Pek/Deng/Gordon three team deal.
