Whoever it was said it half-jokingly, but they actually have a full-time shooting coach who is basically a wizard.

Seriously...a guy who makes everyone a better shooter and has been watching Pop coach up close for several years? What's he making...$500K a year max?

Offer him $3 million a year to be our head coach. Imagine what he would do with Rubio...with Brewer...

Just another example of how great teams take player development seriously. I have to give this to McHale, when he was here I at least felt confident that our bigs would learn technique in the post. We got nothing that instills confidence in me right now that we can make the most out of Ricky, Bazz and whoever else we draft this year.

To your point, I hope Sikma stays with the team for a good while. He's been huge for our young bigs over the last several years.

If only we could get someone to help our perimeter players. I've brought up Rex Kalamian on here a few times. Primary reason for OKC's player development. I have to wonder if he'll get serious looks at being a head coach this off-season. Portland seemed interested two years ago but nothing became of it. Was promoted to lead assistant for Scott Brooks before this season. He has a future.

Cam, I am curious as to what you are seeing that forms your opinion on Sikma. Pek looks like the same player he was in Europe. He hasn't really added anything to his game since he got here. I would say the same about Gorgui, from what I saw of him in college. Both players had to go through an adjustment to the NBA, but other than that, I haven't noticed any significant growth in their games.

I am not sure why Brooks and his staff don't get more Love from their peers. Without a doubt Durant and Westbrook are top players, but even when Westbrook went down the Thunder continued to be a top team in the West. They seem to make the transition seamlessly regardless of the circumstance.

Sjm, you have to give sikma credit for the development of our bigs as he is our big man coach who works primarily with our bigs. Love, pek and dieng are the bright spots in the adelman area and they are all big men.

Pek struggled to adjust his game to the nba level and was a foul machine his rookie year. His game eventually translated to the nba once adelman and co. took over. We know love is very good but he became great under adelman, sikma and the coaching staff. Sikma has work with dieng from the start and we saw how raw dieng was from the summer league.

Also take into consideration the other big men sikma has worked with - Divac, brad miller, webber, yao, scola, landry and chuck hayes( started for houston when yao was done). Yeah, a lot of them were very god players in their own right but they play their best under adelman with sikma as the big man coach. So give credit where credit is due.

I do hope sikma stays when the new coach takes over. Of the assistants, him and david adelman are the two that i hope sticks around.
