Budinger Observation
Does it look to anyone else that he's forcing his jump shot? I don't mean where he's picking to shoot, I'm saying that it looks like his legs are still not under him fully so when he's shooting it it almost looks like he's using his upper body which is causing it to float and a few times last night he either air balled it or hit the front of the rim. To me it looks like he might still be feeling the effects of his injury. Maybe I'm looking too much into it and he's just in a mild slump. Something just doesn't look right to me though.
Re: Budinger Observation
When I saw him in person he really didn't look right. I said that after. I am not sure from what I have seen that he is ever going to have NBA legs again. You can tell he is a smart player from his movement and positioning but he is just not there athletically right now.

He's shooting 38% from 3 this year and has gotten hot as of late. I'm not worried about his jumper. I'm worried about his ability to finish at the rim and/or through contact. That seems to be where he's regressed, but I'm hopeful he'll come around on that. 37% from the field is way below his 43% FG average.

He has been Rubio-esque bad at the rim lately. There were a couple of layup he missed yesterday that Brewer would have made. I guess that's not something surprising a way though, because brewers finishing at the rim has been really good this year for the most part. Outplaying my expectations in that regard. Also, Rubios finished a little more at the rim these last few games. His scoop layup last night and that overhead circus no look shot he hit being examples. Idk, Bud just hasn't looked right. If his numbers are really at 38% that's obviously good maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks on me.

Re: Budinger Observation
Ahughes, Bud still doesn't look 100% but it seems to me that his shot is coming back pretty nicely. We have seen significant improvement from his 1st month (under .350 for FG% and 3PT%) back to his second (.410 FG% and 3PT% for this month). I agree that his drives are a concern. Maybe that will just be a bit slower to come back.

I am actually even more concerned about his defense than his poor shooting (still only at 38% YTD). Adelman continues to use him at the 2, although he is completely unable to guard the perimeter. For awhile I actually thought Adelman was using Bud as a Madsen-like "tanking" mechanism, but Love's inspired play is willing this team to victory despite Bud not being ready to contribute.

LST were you expecting Bud to get back to form faster than he is currently doing it? I'm pretty please with his improvement since starting to play again.....am I correct in assuming that you think that he should be improving faster?
I agree that he is having a challenging time guarding the perimeter. I'm not sure how much that will improve over time.

No, I think he has responded to two knee surgeries about how I would have expected. I expected him to struggle defensively and with his shot until next year, and he has actually shot threes better than I would have predicted. I continue to be astonished, though, that Adelman can't see how much Bud is struggling with all aspects of his game other than 3=point shooting.
I have always liked Bud, but I see his ceiling as offensive sparkplug off the bench. I'm hoping he can recover his athleticism and be able to contribute off the bench in 2014-5.
Re: Budinger Observation
Budinger is coming off two serious knee injuries. It was always going to take time for him to get back to 100% and he probably won't till this off season.
While his shooting hasn't been up to par and his defence somewhat terrible, he is contributing in a winning side and almost looks better starting ahead of Martin.
I'm still high on Bud (excuse the pun) and think there is a place for him on this team.

Got ya. It looks like we just differ on the top end of his potential.
Kiwi, it looks like we have a more similar view on Bud (Legalize it!)
