Damian Lillard Prediction Thread

Post by Lipoli390 »

Well, the dream of getting Scoot just came crashing down a few moments ago when it was reported that Damian Lillard has asked to be traded. So I thought I’d start a thread devoted solely to discussion and predicting where Dame will end up and what various deals might look like.

I’m sure the Heat, Lakers, Clippers, Sixers and Knicks will be the main and favored suitors for Dame. I suspect the Heat will get him because Pat Riley almost always gets what he wants. However, I’m not sure they have enough tradable draft capital and young talent to make a deal work from Portland’s perspective.

One thought is a Harden plus draft assets for Dame. Portland gets salary relief after next season while the Sixers get a player who can team with Embiid to actually make the Sixers a championship contender.

That makes a lot of sense, but I don’t think Portland would have interest in Harden (other than the expiring contract) while some other contenders may be interested in one year of Harden to challenge for a championship. I think adding a third team to acquire more draft assets or young players makes a lot of sense for all involved.

Can a team finally not give a player what they want? Trade him somewhere worse. Dame went from real a respectable players to snowflakes overnight and the league facilitates it all. Fuck Pat Riley.

Yeah, Scoot would have been nice if we were trading KAT, but now we get to keep KAT and we got Shake. I couldn't be happier and hopefully you'll grow to love Shake and prime KAT returns and Scoot disappoints.

Trade Kat for Dame. Just do it. Dame will love Ant. We would be a contender. And I have always loved Dame. Do it TC.

Does Jerami Grant get traded now too as he is a liability for a team that probably aspires to tank the next few seasons? Who might be in line for Jerami now that he's highly paid?

KAT is 5 years younger and he has been with the Wolves his whole career. I'd rather win a few titles with KAT than one with Dame the Mercenary.

PS: Everybody loves Ant.

Next year, we can draft Bronny as we have a pick and then get LeBron on a minimum. KAT, Rudy, LeBron, Ant, Jaden--that would be a fun team.

Yeah, the Wolves would be hurting if they lost KAT without getting someone to replace him in the frontcourt. That's what happened last year and we barely made the playoffs. A healthy KAT from the get-go will help make the Wolves a very formidable team.
