PJ Dozier to the wolves
PJ Dozier to the wolves
Free agent F PJ Dozier has agreed on a one-year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources tell ESPN. Dozier returns from a season in Europe after a torn ACL with Nuggets in late 2021 caused him to again make his case for an NBA contract.
Re: PJ Dozier to the wolves
He has some familiarity with the Wolves system and TC seems to really like him.

Re: PJ Dozier to the wolves
From Dane Moore little research he really improved as a playmaker last year in Serbia and his advance numbers were good. We lost a bigger wing in Kyle this could theoretically help with that.
Only a partial guaranteed deal also

Since i am euroleague expert just few things worth mentioning.
Zeliko obradovic (one of the best coach in the world) had him in playmaker duties this year since his team had issues in pg position.
He had two amazing months (which resulted to be picked from fantasy basketball lovers alot) before slowing down and in general he has improve his general basketball skills.
-- Might be a surprise pick for us (I would say he is closer to slowmo right now than ingles is).
In general not a bad move as long as we have ingles shooting well from the outside. In general I think we are improving our guard/wing defence with him.
I kinda worried because while he did well handling the ball more, when players return from injuries he was lost in rotation. Finishing strong though in the last 2 games (euroleague).
For domestic league in the finals of the domestic league he had 0 out 9 attempts (3point) in his final 5 season games.
In general good as an all rounder player but not as a shooter. He can play 3 positions and guard 3 positions while handling the ball at a decent level and getting rebounds and assists to complete his overall game.

Speaking of overseas, what about taking a shot with Shane Larkin? What's the dirt there?

Unless he's dying to come back to rack up DNP's, he's comfortable in Turkey.Crazysauce wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 6:08 pm Speaking of overseas, what about taking a shot with Shane Larkin? What's the dirt there?
EDIT: Re-signed to stay with Anadolu Efes until 2028.
Re: PJ Dozier to the wolves
Larkin is a guy that makes more money overseas (last I saw he made over million in a season) and is basically a high level player there. Here he would be a backup at best.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 6:19 pmUnless he's dying to come back to rack up DNP's, he's comfortable in Turkey.Crazysauce wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 6:08 pm Speaking of overseas, what about taking a shot with Shane Larkin? Re: PJ Dozier to the wolves
Dozier was signed once before to a non guaranteed deal with the Wolves and played so well in Iowa after he went there he ended up signed with the Kings.
He played well his last full season in Denver and Jokic said some very positive things about him.
I don't believe in his shooting but I remember before his injury he had some nearly elite numbers. In a way I think he could be considered more of a combo guard version of Okogie but is a better 3 point shooter. He is oddly way way better at shooting above the break than in the corners. That means he is might even be above average shooting above break 3's overall. I don't have those numbers and I believe league wide they have risen but they are lower than corner 3's.
It will be interesting to see if it's a guaranteed deal or not. My guess is non-guaranteed but he brings another defender. To the guard wing position that can use one.
