Tough loss. When has NAW not gotten an A? He's been great.

A Mike Conley problem continues to percolate....

NAW’s hesitation and foul on the last defensive possession prevented OT. I suggest an A-…

It might be time to start DDV or NAW over Conley. I might lean DDV myself for the long term as we have him under contract for several years. NAW could leave after this season as his pay raise could be quite large. Maybe even try Dilly a bit to see if we can start working him in.

I might give Conley 5 more games to see if he can turn things around. If not just minimal bench minutes. He might even be more effective off the bench too.

Fair grades for Conley, Finchie and Randle, Kek, but I think you're underrating Donte. He was a dynamo out there with his constant movement, his 6 rebounds and his 4 assists. Yes, he needs to return to last year's shooting excellence, but if he makes more than 2 out of 7, he would have deserved an A. The Knicks are a disappointing 4-5 despite good performances from KAT and Brunson. There's no question they miss DiVo, and when he starts hitting his 3's again, we'll appreciate more what we got in that trade.

I agree with FNG that a C for Donte is way too low. He was a huge positive factor for the team last night even as many of his teammates kept screwing up and failed to bring the necessary energy to the court. I also think Jaden’s grade is too high. His boneheaded foul down the stretch alone takes him down one grade. And while his defense was excellent, he just disappeared too often offensively.

You and FNG are right about Donte, he made winning plays. Was just annoyed with how many open shots he missed and he has missed this year. I think it was my bias of him shooting 32% from 3 this year affected his grade.

Personally I thought Jaden was great, thought he stopped so many fast breaks that don’t end up on the stat sheet but were so huge in the game. I think Jaden fouled Herro in the corner but I do think it is a tough close out to make, he just took one too many half steps forward. I’ve been pretty hard on Jaden this year but thought he really competed last night.

Kek - You’re right about Jaden’s defense and I agree that he competed hard last night. I think my grade for him was a little too skewed by my view of his foul on Herro. Donte’s shooting has frustrated me this season. But I’ve always shared Cool’s view that Donte is a good but not great shooter. On the other hand, Donte does so many other things at a really high level to help his team win. And he’s a better playmaker than I thought. TC’s decision to hold out for Donte in the KAT deal was yet another example of TC’s brilliance as an NBA PBO.
