The Pivot Perspective - Lakers at Wolves GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

I know I failed to bring us a win last game, but it wasn't my fault. That game felt like a win, and it was just a few things that snatched the victory away. So I am continuing my streak of starting the GDTs.

When we lost that game to Sacramento while I was sailing the Caribbean, things were really looking bleak, including ANTs comments. Not only did the Wolves seem in turmoil, but the next 15 games were all against .500+ teams, which included the likes of the Celtics, Thunder, Mavs, Rockets, Lakers twice, Clippers twice and Warrior three times! Well, a third of the way through those 15 games the Wolves have a 4-1 record. 10 more to go starting with the Lakers tonight. LeBron is out, but it looks like Austin Reeves is in, and Dlo was on FIRE in their last game, which LeBron also missed.

Sounds like Dilly is a GO for tonight, although his presence doesn't necessarily contribute to winning - we just want to see some growth. DDV has shot the three well the past two games. We need NAZ and Jaden to join the party.

Another 4-1 spurt over the next 5 games would be a nice Christmas present!

Grok's analysis of the game:

Will the timberwolves win tonight?

The Minnesota Timberwolves are favored to win their game tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers. Several factors suggest a Timberwolves victory:

Player Performance and Absences: LeBron James is out for the Lakers, which significantly impacts their lineup. Anthony Edwards is expected to lead Minnesota's offense effectively.

Spread and Betting Insights: Betting odds have the Timberwolves as 9-point favorites, indicating a strong belief in their ability to win. The spread suggests a comfortable win margin for Minnesota.

Team Momentum: Minnesota's defense is noted to be back to elite status, and they are coming off a long break at home, which could play in their favor.

However, there are considerations:

Lakers' Potential: Even without LeBron, players like Anthony Davis could have a significant impact, especially considering the potential for a revenge game against Rudy Gobert.

Unpredictability: NBA games can be unpredictable, and despite the odds, the Lakers might perform above expectations.

Given the current analysis and sentiment, the Timberwolves seem poised to win, but as with any sports event, the outcome isn't guaranteed until the final buzzer.

Not a great close to the quarter, but still in pretty good shape.

Jim Peterson mentioned Naz Reid's defense as being a strength. I have to agree, his defense has come a long way in 4+ years.

Thought Jaden was absolutely phenomenal defensively that first stint.

Jaden looks like he is back to last years Jaden. Hope he keeps it up.

W.T.A.F. is going on? The refs just lost their whistles and the Wolves can't make a layup. Finch needed to call a time out 3 minutes ago.

Refs are letting them play. I think…

We are not playing very smart to start the 2nd quarter.
