I think you have to bump Ant up because he was part of an elite team defensive effort when he was on the floor.

Personally I thought he was just ok, he had a terrible layup attempt, the ball moved when he was on the court, he did only shoot 40%, im not a big fan +\- but he was a team worst -10 in those small minutes. If it was a one game outlier of the wolves getting destroyed with Dilly on the court I might take less importance to that, however the wolves consistently get destroyed with dilly on the court. Now I don’t know how many favors Finch is doing for dilly having him play with the Randle and Naz frontline

But that is why I just gave him a B

I'm really pulling for Rob because I can see Trae Young when I squint a little, and that would be a very nice projection for him. But I have to side with Kek on this one and give him a B at best. I loved the two 3-point makes, the energy, and the ball movement...only one assist, but it seems like every game guys miss shots that would give him more. But while he hustled on defense and also had the one steal, you can see that we just aren't the same when he is out there...his hustle isn't making up for his size and lack of NBA experience, and there's a reason we regularly get outscored when he's on the court. Great potential, I think, but the Rob Experience is going to be rocky for awhile. Still...I would give him a few more minutes at backup PG, especially in games like this where a win seems likely.

Conley's B- might be generous considering he went 0 for 6 from the field. But he did have 7 of our 18 assists (I'm sure Finchie is not happy with the 18) without turning the ball over. And go back and look at how different our defense looks when Mike is out there compared to Rob. And, as I document every game...we're now 13-7 when Daddy plays, and 0-4 when he doesn't. Stay healthy, Mike!

I guess the only grade I would disagree on is Naz. He misses a lot of 2-pointers he would usually make (1 for 8 on 2's...mostly around the basket!), but he made his 2 threes and continued his defensive resurgence...his footwork was terrific on the perimeter. I'll give him a C.

His defense was subpar, not terrible just not good enough. With his size he has to be 100% in position and aggressive without fouling just to be adequate. His contests for instance are just never going to be as effective as say Jadens or even Ants. It's just easy to see and shoot over him for most guys. I do think he can be good enough in time as his offense is potentially super sweet, along with his passing skills. He can be a superstar on offense and just adequate on defense and we got a huge homerun.

Dillingham is a perfect fit for Rudy. Yin and Yang so to speak. Would love to see those 2 on the court together to replace Conley more.

That's funny you mention Trae Young. That was my thought of Dilly also when watching the Knicks/ATL game the other night. The question is can he be more Marcus Smart or Pat Bev on D versus Trae Young? The odds of him being a Pat Bev are probably a 100-1. But man I think he can be better then Trae on D. Trae is certainly huge on offense though. I think the position Dilly is in along with the coaching will help him develop his defense.

Great analysis of Dilly.

I agree you on Naz. Got to bump him up to a C. I’d also bump Ant up to a B-. His was one of only two Wolves with more than 20 points and had 6 rebounds. His points were pretty efficient. Combine all that with his defense and he has to get a B- or B unless we’re holding him to a higher standard for grading. We should hold Ant to a higher standard, but that shouldn’t impact his grade. The higher standard means he should consistently get an A- or better.
