Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
Re: Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
Yeah, not the greatest Rudy game, but the Suns are kind of a wonky matchup for him. And poor Minott...I'd almost give him an incomplete since he got pulled so quickly, LOL.
Perhaps overshadowed by all the other theater in this game, Randle was nearly flawless after the first quarter and Dillingham continues to show he could be the PG of the future.

Re: Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
Shouldn't Alex Rodriguez get an A?!?

Re: Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
Apparently, Miami has dropped its asking price for Butler. After tonight’s game my asking price for Randle just went up a lot. 27 points and zero turnovers. That’s what we need to get from Randle. We don't’ need 27 points. 20 points or even 17 with quick decisions and no turnovers will suffice.
Once again, I agree almost completely with kek’s grades. However, I’d bump Dilly up to an A- if only because he’s my favorite student.

Re: Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
Lots of well-deserved high grades, and as I mentioned in the GDT, I'll add Finchie with an A.
One minor difference of opinion. I loved Ant's intensity in this game, but can anyone with 7 turnovers ever deserve an A? I would downgrade him slightly.

Re: Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
I agree FNG. And some of those turnovers were just unforced sloppiness. It's an on going headache with him.
The other thing about Ant is that he seems to get energy from the enthusiasm of others. He has "his guys" like Jaden and Naz, but also he seems to have an extra skip in his step when a guy like Clark comes into the game and immediately picks up Tyus Jones full court. I think he gets bored playing with the more methodical Randle, Rudy, and Conley trio.
Re: Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
I do think some of his turnovers were sort of BS. Hit Rudy in the hands he was credit for the turnover, the non called kick ball was a turnover, he had another one where it hit a player in the hands turnover. I think Ant played great winning basketball besides the last minute of I believe the first half where he had 3 turnovers in a row
Re: Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
Yeah, I agree those two TOs were questionable. I think my downgrade was strongly influenced by that horrible stretch by Ant in the second quarter when his foul on Plumlee followed by 3 inexcusable turnovers turned a 51-50 game into a 57-50 game. Those are the kind of stretches that lead to losses. Fortunately Ant and others followed up with a terrific second half that won the game. Ant played very well overall, but I don't think Finchie would give him an A after those TOs.kekgeek wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 9:28 amI do think some of his turnovers were sort of BS. Re: Kekgeek grades G47 vs suns
This was a game made for Randle with Phoenix playing small. The Suns had basically nobody that was able to guard Randle unless they put Durant on him. When he got a match up he feasted by punishing those poor guys.
Which got me thinking about in a playoff series Randle could be really valuable or maybe much less so based on the matchups. That's true for Gobert and a number of non-MVP candidate true centers.
