I'm going to update this Plus/Minus stat as the series goes along:

Donte's minutes certainly isn't helping Ants +- so far. You do expect the 26 almost 27 year old MVP veteran to have a better series than the 23 year old kid. Not let's hope the kid can come through.

I think we all would like to see Ant be closer to Shai in this stat...let's see what happens tonight.

I'm going to keep track of Rudy vs. Naz. The things that Rudy does poorly (bad hands, poor free throw shooting) are sometimes comical and so much more visible than the things that Naz does poorly (overall defense). And conversely, the things that Rudy does well (elite screening and defense) are much more subtle than the things Naz does well (3-point shooting and post moves). As a result I think the average Wolves fan tends to value Naz more than Rudy. That's okay, but I expect more from sharper minds like Dane Moore and Brit Robson. I just finished listening to their post game 1 pod, and a lot of it was devoted to Rudy's poor play and whether he can be a positive factor in this series. So, I'll keep track of how the Wolves perform when the two of them are on the court, respectively. After Game 1:

Rudy: -2 in 21 minutes
Naz: -21 in 28 minutes

I listened as well and 100% agree. They did mention though the really only reason Naz was playing more then Rudy was because we got behind double digits. You kind of have to gamble and say I hope we get hot and hit 3's to come back. It's harder I think to rely on defense to make a comeback. You do have to simply score and score in bunches at some point. The margin for error seems smaller to me to try and comeback with defense. Though, OKC essentially fuels it's offense through it's defense. Steal, open floor, easy buckets.

It's for sure a grey area in my mind.

That's true. And I found myself thinking those 3's by Naz were going to start falling, and I'm sure Finchy did too.

Ouch. Other than his poor 3-point shooting, Ant had a terrific offensive game. But he was unfocused on defense and absurdly boneheaded whenever we went zone. His defense and 1 for 9 3-point shooting added up to a deserved -22...only DiVo was worse. On the other hand, Shae was consistently brilliant at both ends of the court. We're going to continue to hope Ant someday gets close to SGA's level, but right now there is a big gap between the two teams' Batmen *and unfortunately with Ju's horrible game, also a gap between the 2 teams' Robins).

Neither of our centers were particularly helpful tonight. Through 2 games:

Rudy: -11 in 51 minutes...can't score
Naz: -27 in 56 minutes...can't defend or hit 3's

Nobody played exceptional in that game.

But Edwards was far ahead of almost every other Timberwolves player... it's hard to describe. Yes... the three pointers. Yes... the occasional defensive lapse.

At the same time, he went for 32/9/6 as the primary facilitator... with 0 TOs... vs. one of the better defenses in modern NBA history.

The problem in Game 2 was less about SGA > Edwards (which is true) than it was OKC >>>>>> MN.
