Wolves chances to win this series right now

Post by Wolvesfan21 »

I'm going with less than 1%.

I was wrong about OKC and wrong about our guys. I thought we'd step up rather then shrink. We've been too far too soft across the board and OKC is just that good. Nothing I've seen in games 1 and 2 says we can even make this a series, I even turned the game off at half, I saw enough already! A sweep is most likely now.

I get turning off last night's game...it was easy to see the direction it was going. I stuck it out until the bitter end because I recalled the terrific comeback we made against OkC just a couple months ago, and Indy's Wednesday night comeback was fresh in my mind. Didn't want to miss a comeback, but it never happened.

I've been consistent in predicting a 4-1 Gentleman's Sweep for OkC, and I have seen nothing to change my mind. I guess I would say we still have a 10% chance, but frankly I think we need a key injury or two to get there.

Well, I am still on target for Wolves in 6...

The series does not tilt until a team wins a road game.

You know I'm a huge optimist, but teams trailing 2-0 are 8% all time in the playoffs to come back and win the series. This isn't a bad team either who just squeaked by. I got to stick with about 1%. I would bet a buck on 1/100 odds, but not more.

We went up 2-0 on Denver last year in Denver, and had their fans completely demoralized as we go up 26 a the half on a Mike steal and Ant dunk. Denver had a few more days to work on changes, but they made some massive adjustments changing how they defended Ant, running the offense through Gordon instead of Murray, and other things. Finch has less time to make adjustments but he does need to make adjustments. He mad a few adjustments on offense like posting up Ant a few times. But he needs to make adjustment on defense which is not something he likes to do. We need go shell, close the paint, double and blitz SGA and make OKC a three point shooting team. That is the exact opposite of how we like to play defense, but our way isn't going to work against OKC mid range game. It's up to Finch (and the players of course) if they want to make this a series. I would also play 9-10 guys, 8 guys worked fine against LA and GS. If we play 10 guys, we can play hard and more physical for longer periods of time as players get some rest. I'm not sure if we can play Donte again in this series, at least not in the 2nd half. His 3rd quarter minutes have killed us in the first two games.

I think when it's all said and done...

We'll be looking back at just how good OKC really was. They broke regular season records for a reason. They're very very good. And I can't imagine them losing in the Finals. I think the Wolves would look better vs. 28 other NBA teams than they look right now.

The worst part? Their future looks even better! The Wolves moving East can't come soon enough...

The next game is all that matters right now. Get a win (I think we will) and then let's see how the rest of the series looks. My biggest worry is can we find the energy to play for 4 quarters? OKC has shown they have it. And at the same time we need to up the minutes for Ant and Jaden. Have to go for it tomorrow.

I think their future does look very bright, but the 2nd tax apron is coming for them very soon. SGA, Chet, and Jalen can all sign max contracts this summer that total over 885 million dollars. They won't kick in next season but the following season it's going to be tough keeping guys like Hartenstein and Caruso when SGA, Chet, and Jalen are making 160 million + combined.

I don't think Chet or JWill will get max deals. I think JWill signs for 35/yr and Chet closer to 30/yr. Remember that they dont play for the Wolves!

Jwill has a really good chance at making all nba. I would be shocked if he passed up 80 million dollars
