Porzingis
Porzingis
Looks like Boston is shopping both Jrue Holiday and Porzingis to get under second apron. With Tatum out next year, I think they don't want to pay a steep tax to field a non-title contending team and those are the two guys they are rumored to be shopping. I have no interest in Holiday at his current salary (but if he's bought out and he'd come cheaply, absolutely yes). I'm more intrigued with Porzingis as it comes down to health with him. If he's healthy he'd be a great fit, but that's the gamble. He was playing well last year after he returned in December as his knee wasn't much concern (except for rest management on back to backs), but then he got a virus around March and that affected him for the remainder of the year. If he's recovered from that, then he might be a sneaky good pickup. Supposedly Boston just wants to dump his contract and isn't expecting anything of value back. I wouldn't mind Porzingis if all it did was cost us Randle, but not sure Boston would have any interest in Randle if the goal is to shed salary. If there is a three way deal that could get us Porzingis with Randle and maybe a minor sweetener like Minott and/or pick 31, such a deal might be of interest. Hey Durant ended the year hurt too and he had three bad ankle sprains that caused him to miss multi-weeks and he's considerably older. I see the rumored Durant trades and I'm not interested in giving up the farm for a guy his age and with his injury history. If the cost for Porzingis is much cheaper, maybe I'd consider pivoting that way if his health concerns check out.

Re: Porzingis
The only way imaginable that this would save Boston money is if Randle opted out immediately upon landing there, but this is an illegal trade because they're a second apron team and Randle makes more than Porzingis. This is a nonstarter at the minimum til we know what comes of their options and Boston doesn't save much money even in a straight swap.
Re: Porzingis
As expected, Holiday and Porzingis were traded. Man, Porzingis was traded for so little. Nets provided the cap space and got pick 22. Great pick up for the Hawks.
