While we wait to find out where Durant ends up, let’s assume for a moment he doesn’t end up with the Wolves. What are some trade ideas that you think might make the Wolves a better team than last season even short run or long run and help get us over the hump into the NBA Finals in the four years left on the contracts of Ant and Jaden. So this exercise isn’t limited to deals that would likely improve the team next season.
So let the proposals roll in!
Wolves Non-Durant Trade Ideas
Re: Wolves Non-Durant Trade Ideas
Is this the thread where we discuss moving Garza for a 2-way player on another team?

17 and 31 to Portland for 11. Secure the big man you want, whether it's Sorber, Beringer, even the top wing prospects.
I'll reiterate what I said in the offseason thread
Gobert to Charlotte for both Williamses and Nurkic and they throw in a first, I'm game if the goal is to shed his salary.
a variation of this I guess would be Randle to Charlotte for Nurkic and Grant Williams, but then I insist that they include the Dallas 2027 first.
I cooked up an intriguing one that might not work for multiple reasons but it gives Minnesota a PG more to Finch's liking and it brings back Donte to NY
Four teamer:
Thunder get:
Cam Johnson
19th pick from Brooklyn
Wolves get:
Isaiah Joe
Nikola Topic
2029 Knicks first
Knicks get:
Donte DiVincenzo
Dillon Jones
Josh Minott via a Knicks TPE
#24 pick via OKC
Nets get:
Mitchell Robinson
Rob Dillingham
Miles McBride
#15 pick via OKC

Re: Wolves Non-Durant Trade Ideas
Apparently, Garza is the one Wolf with a real no trade clause!
Non-Durant trades are tough without knowing the outcome of the draft and the NAZ/Randle option decisions and/or extensions.
Re: Wolves Non-Durant Trade Ideas
This is from the "starting PG options" thread:
Giannis Antetokounmpo (point power forward)
Darius Garland
Trae Young
De'Aaron Fox
Derrick White
DeJounte Murray
Don't ask me to actually put together the trade machine package, but it's just a few names to throw out there as potentially being available.

Re: Wolves Non-Durant Trade Ideas
Okay, I got one. It’ll depend on who the Pelicans get in the draft — hoping they draft a PG. The trade cannot happen until after July 1st and assumes Randle picks up his player option.
Randle and DDV for Dejounte Murray and Kelly Olynyk.
Murray will be out to start the season as he recovers from an ACL repair.
I am sure there are reasons the trade will never happen on both sides. But you asked for it!

That’s a good list. Here’s my instant reaction to each:Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sun Jun 15, 2025 8:40 pm This is from the "starting PG options" thread:

Giannis — I can’t image a package I’d be willing to give that would be good enough to get him.
Darius Garland - I like him, but he’d be out early w/toe surgery; I think we have a better small PG prospect in Dilly.
De-Aaron Fox - I like him but it would take a lot of assets to get him. Would he fit well with Ant?
Derrick White - He’d be top of my list if I were TC. I also think he’s the most likely acquisition from this list
DeJounte Murray - I used to love him; but soured on him past few years. And now he’s coming off an ACL. I have no interest.
Re: Wolves Non-Durant Trade Ideas
Here’s my first attempt at a possible trade:
Wolves Get: Bam, Rozier and Slo Mo
Heat Get: Rudy, Randle (sign-and-trade) and Donte
Why would it make sense for both teams?
Wolves would get more of a two-way center who is still very good defensively, although not the rim protector that Rudy is.. We’d get a veteran PG younger than Conley to bridge from Conley to Dilly. And we’d get our beloved Slo Mo back as Naz Reid’s backup at the PF position.
Miami would get the starting bigs who helped get the Wolves to the Conference Finals and Donte, who seems to fit the Heat culture perfectly. Rudy, Randle and Ware would be in impressive trio of bigs to combine with Tyler Herro and the rest of the current Miami roster.

Re: Wolves Non-Durant Trade Ideas
Yeah, White is almost a perfect fit. I think I would come around on Fox too since he and Ant is a pretty tough back court combination to contain. And I agree with you on the others.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 10:40 amThat’s a good list. Re: Wolves Non-Durant Trade Ideas
Thoughts on Jalen Green? Reports are the Suns are trying to reroute him the Durant trade. Would a Rudy for Green make any sense?
I’m not sure it does but thought I would bring it up because it would be another shot creator next to Ant.
