Makes sense as this will give Ant 4 days to rest his foot.

I called this in my DVR recap of the Spurs game. The Wolves played that 4th quarter like they knew this was going to happen...

After the Gobert flagrant... "they started playing like a team that knew it would be playing the next game without Rudy AND Edwards... while facing a 3-game losing streak just when they started feeling better about themselves."

I guess it makes sense. Two big games coming up this weekend against West teams near us in the standinhs, and Rudy has to be out, so Finchy is thinking let's take a loss and try to win 2 this weekend with a rested Ant. And you never know...sometimes a short-handed team plays with passion and surprises. We'll have to see. Turner is sick, so we might see Portis at center...makes missing Rudy more tolerable.

I'm thinking Mike and Naz start, and Joan gets a chance to show how close he is to being ready.

I would certainly hope so. I think he's earned it.

The line for this game surprises me. The Wolves will be missing 2 future HOFers, but still the Bucks are only favored by 3 1/2. Sure, the Bucks are not good this year, but they are 14-11 when Giannis plays (3-11 when he doesn't). Vegas showing a lot of respect for the Wolves' depth, but I'm not sure it's deserved. Julius has had big games this season when Ant has been out, but Kuzma may be a tough defensive matchup for him.

I have looked briefly but I can not find the info on the rest of season consequences for accumulating flagrant points. Does the counter rest after Rudy’s suspension and he needs 6 more points for a second suspension?

No. It is very punitive! It's another 1 game suspension if he hits 7 points. After that, every flagrant foul is a two game suspension. And they say it does not reset for the playoffs.

It's tough, because just like the flagrant foul against Wemby, Rudy had no "intention" of getting under his feet -- it was accidental. So, it could happen again no matter how careful Rudy is. The Wolves need to develop a back up plan for if, or when, Rudy gets another suspension. I don't know if that is Joan, or acquiring another backup C, or just figuring out how to play without Rudy (which hasn't been very good this year).

Tonight is a test of what the "do nothing" plan looks like...
