Go for the Jugular, Nuggets @ Wolves GAME FOUR GDT

Post by Phenom »

Complaceny is probably the last thing we want see today. The Wolves need to keep going at the greatest vulnerability the Nuggets have and no doubt that has been the point of emphasis for the team. Keep the switch flipped!

So, you are not in favor of a ceasefire. Right? ;)

Somehow when I heard about the Wolves "flipping the switch" in the playoffs, I assumed we were talking about Ant. Turns out it has been Donte, Rudy, Jaden, and Ayo who have flipped the switch and led us to a 2-1 lead. Ju also to some extent on defense, although he has not been that effective on offense. Now, can they keep it up? And can Ant come to the party?

Denver is favored by 1 1/2 after getting their asses handed to them Thursday, which tells me Gordon might be playing...he's listed as a GDT. Even if he plays, I don't expect him to be very effective. After watching Ant limp off to the locker room just a couple nights ago, I find it odd that he doesn't appear on the injury report. A miracle recovery? Seems doubtful, but we can only hope. Ant returning to form would go a long way to getting us to 3-1.

Denver looked so beaten and downcast at the end of the last game, you have to wonder if they can bounce back...they looked a lot more like "1-2-3 Cancun" than "we can do this". I've heard a few pundits say this series is over. I'm going to hold off on that call until we see what happens tonight. But if we beat them as badly tonight as we did last game, I think we are going to have no winner in the series prediction thread since nobody picked the Wolves in 5.

Hopefully I don't regret this, but I really think this series is a wrap. It's a matter of how many games.

Point being I don't think this game is extra critical for winning the series, but it is for a sustained playoff run.

Go up 3-1 and you're likely getting a longer rest than the Spurs --- the Blazers aren't winning that--- lose tonight and you risk this going 6 or 7

I don't think it's too far fetched to say that if the Wolves win tonight, the series is ours

I agree.
While the Wolves have a well earned reputation of inconsistency, the fact is that problem hasn't existed in the first round.

They're currently a rather astonishing 10 and 2 in the first round since 2024

"Denver in 5" guy agrees with both of you...the Nuggets looked like a beaten-down team on the bench at the end of the game.

Still far from over, of course, but I'm asking myself "when are you ever going to learn that this team is totally different post-season than they are during the regular season?" I generally think of myself as an optimist when it comes to the Wolves, but I thought the Suns would easily take care of us two years ago, and I wasn't optimistic about the Lakers series last year either. But both were easy wins. Some of the names have changed over three years, but Ant/Rudy/Jaden/Mike have yet to let us down in round one of the playoffs. Let's hope they do it again.
