One name really stuck out, but for an unexpected reason: De'Aaron Fox. Look at his remaining contract value!!! That seems problematic for the Spurs given Harper and Castle's emergence.

I'd be happy with quite a few guys on there, also a deep point guard draft if they stay at 28 or try to move up. Pippen and Davian Mitchell would be interesting choices. Davion Mitchell has really picked up his assists and 3pt shooting in Miami. Maybe Mitchell will offloaded in their pursuit of Giannis.

Yes, I'm a bit of a hometown rube... but I really like Tre Jones at $8M.

Granted, he's an elite game manager type, so he wouldn't fix the Wolves problem of having too few guys who can create for themselves. He's not a three-point shooter (which would be highly problematic on a team with Gobert). And I think he's too small for some matchups.

But other than that... Mrs. Lincoln really liked the play for only $8M.

We should somehow get Donovan Mitchell to play with Rudy

Ha, yeah, Tre checks the "connective tissue" box and brings a lot of the same traits as Mike Conley.

If we aren't going big (e.g. Kyrie, D. Murray, etc.) then I'm kind of enamored at making a run at Collin Gillespie. He's another one of these gritty, high IQ 'Nova dudes that just knows how to play and he can shoot the hell out of the ball. He's almost like a more point guard-y and slightly smaller version of DDV. Not sure if he'd start or backup someone like Ayo, but I really like how he helped elevate a Suns team last year that most expected to be quite terrible.

LOL!

Nice list, Q! Thanks for putting that together.

Fox like a few others, make more money than I think the Wolves can handle, unless their gutting themselves like they would have to do for Giannis. But we do want someone who's salary lets us move Randle, so I am kind of ignoring the guys with smaller salaries.

If I had to pick my favorite, it would be Derrick White. Which is probably a lot of people's favorite! Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything that would indicate Boston has any inkling to part with him.

My next favorite is LaMelo Ball. Kyrie Irving and Jrue Holiday would be next. Immanuel Quickley and Dejounte Murray are low on my list. Suggs doesn't do much for me. And my gut tells me we wind up with Ja Morant.

Oh well...

Incredible work Q thank you!

Naturally many of us will focus on the usual suspects, for what's it's worth I don't have any interest in Ja or Kyrie and tbh am a little weary of White but he's likely a great candidate. Tre Jones would be great get, but not as a starter. Ball present the highest upside by far but he has so many bad loser habits that it's hard to trust for me.

I'll go with some of the unusual suspects here:

I've said it before, and I am by now means a stan of him but IQ might be the best consolation prize when you consider what the team needs. His contract is basically identical to Randle's, which means he's overpaid, BUT hes a really good shooter, is a legit ball handler, averaged 6 ast to 1.5 TOs, is an average or better defender and wouldn't present an ego problem (at least a far as I know, but I could be wrong). He's also probably actually available to get cause the shine seems to have worn off in Toronto.

Absolutely no one would love this move, but he immediately improves the spacing issues and is a better defender than Ju with consistent effort. I find it concerning that he had a 33% usage rate, can he and Ant co exist?

I doubt Memphis would move him but I've had my eye on Ty Jerome for a while and he'd be a good fit if Ant can step up defensively.

It would be kinda cool if the Wolves can snag Collier as a development guy as a part of a multi team trade.

Last. Would Jamal Murrary be desirable? Denver may be looking to shake things up this summer so this worth wondering if MN does a zag and get Murray. His contract is massive so it's probably not possible and I hate how bad of a defender he is and he's had more years as a playoff dropper now than riser.

Oh one more point. I've long thought Fox is too highly paid for the wolves to pursue, and I'd rather not do the Spurs any favors.

I have zero opinions on Quickley. I just don't know his game whatsoever and it seems like the couple times we've played Toronto he's either hurt or gone fairly unnoticed. He looks solid on paper.

Ty Jerome is more of a pure bucket-getter than play maker, but he can handle and pass the ball too. I see him as more of a 6th man instant offense type vs. a starter that can hold up against Western Conference playoff teams. He's one of these guys that just trundled along his first few years in the league and then - boom! - suddenly turned into this elite shot maker two seasons ago. It's just rare to see a guy in his age 27 season suddenly turn into an elite scorer like that. Reminds me a bit of Norm Powell in that regard.

Collier is interesting and you have to wonder how he'd do on a team surrounded by better personnel. And he's been developing in Utah for a few years now, yet is still very young and could get a lot better. Same with the other guys I listed in that category.

Yeah, we don't want Fox going anywhere, as he very much hamstrings the Spurs' cap situation as their blue-chip talent comes off their rookie contracts. But someone is going to probably trade for him and bail the Spurs out of that contract.

My opinion on Quickly is almost entirely based on what I'm seeing on paper and the little I've heard of him from my Canadian co worker.

Interesting perspective about Jerome. I was thinking that he could be a starter myself but I won't pretend that I'm super familiar with his game
