Final Tune-up? - Wolves at Bulls GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

After the klunker against the Pistons, maybe the Wolves could use a final tune-up before the regular season. But then again, it might be advisable to head into the regular season healthy. Which will it be?

I'm thinking the starters sit. I saw Ayo didn't travel to Chicago for sure. All the pictures on the Wolves twitter of guys doing the morning practice were all bench guys.

Everything I've seen points to the starters getting some minutes early.

In Minnesota!!! :D

From Alan Horton. Read into it what you may...

Alan Horton @WolvesRadio

Edwards, Ball, McDaniels, Kuminga, Gobert, Dosunmu, Hyland & Lyles will not play tonight & did not make the trip to Chicago.

Chris Finch before the game...

"This game is extremely intentional. We treat it almost like a baseball split-squad game. Half the roster stayed back home & practiced today & we get these guys here who get a chance to play extended minutes."

That's certainly one way to read it!!!

But I suspect it goes more like this: The top 6 are set and don't need to play. Lyles is a vet and they don't need to see him playing with the bench fodder. And they are very familiar with Bones, whereas Shannon has such limited playing time due to his injuries. But, yeah, Shannon better have a solid game tonight!

Tough start for Joan, but he’s working hard. I’m I nuts for thinking Jaylen is a better fit in our bench rotation than Shannon?

What, you didn’t like the defensive rebound that bounced off his head? It’s amazing how much worse his instincts are on the defensive boards compared to the other end.

Bulls can’t be happy with their starters losing to a team that left its top 6 players home.
