Morneau
I read an article the other day from a MN writer saying the twins should stick with Morneau and resign him for 2 more years at 10 mil/yr. I love Morneau just as much as any other twins fan, but it's time to look for a future 1B. He's got some value right now-more than he has in a while. Here's a thought-try to get Matt Adams from St. Louis any way possible. Example would be Morneau to Yanks, Adams to us, and Nunez/prospects to the cards. Adams is a great hitter (and 24) who is stuck behind Craig-will probably take more to get him, but just a thought.

Re: Morneau
Idk 2 years is pretty short term in baseball, it doesn't stop us for looking for our future at 1b.

You're right-it is short term and I wouldn't be upset if it happened-but now is when his value is at its highest. I say cash in while we can and avoid someone else sweeping up Adams for cheap.

It kind of depends on the development of Sano, if the Twins truly think he can stick at Third, I have no problem with resigning Moreneau, but if there's a high chance Sano is gonna have to move over there. Also like to see that contract more of a 2 yr at 8 mil a year.

Re: Morneau
Sano and Buxton are both doing well-but Sano hit the wall a little bit once he got to AA, as expected. They'll probably need close to 2 more years before coming up, along with Rosario at 2B. Great to have 3 prospects coming up at the same time that will all help immediately (and maybe 4 with Pinto). Meyer and May shouldn't take much longer.
Anyway, the progress of these guys will determine Morneau, like you said. I just don't think the twins win for another 2 years, so paying Morneau that money is a waste if you can get a nice prospect or 2 from him and shed some salary.
