Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

Why isn't Shannon that guy? He's less than $3M next season and has proven to be a useful player in the playoffs. His scope got a little too big against the Spurs because we were running out of healthy bodies, but why can't he play a Shamet or McBride type role off the bench? I agree that Connelly h...

Re: Wolves offseason outlook.

I'm not sure where to put this and didn't want to make a new thread. But am I the only person who had a problem with Ant being in the Spurs huddle with 8 minutes left in our season? Anybody else? It's just weird and speaks to someone who doesn't have it all connected. Call me old school, but ignori...

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

Is this really true? There's a cogent argument to be made that what bit them was a poorly constructed roster, terrible luck with injuries and a loser effort from the "second best player". You could also rightfully argue that putting better supporting pieces around a re-prioritized core is...

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

I think we're too far away from OKC or SA without a big swing and homerun. Thats why. Any middling/minor move likely doesn't move the needle enough to give us any real chance. You get a 90% plus version of Kyrie and now all of a sudden you are a dangerous threat. Is this really true? There's a coge...

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

The Heat still want Randle too, I think you could expand the list a bit. Maybe a Herro to Dallas, Ju to Heat and Kyrie to Wolves deal, something like that. Dallas drafts another PG in draft whos not 34 YO and will be around in 4-5 years when Dallas hopes to be good. I think Ju's value isn't as bad ...

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

I'd imagine it would be more of a three team trade with Randle to Detroit, Phoenix, or another team that sends players or picks to Dallas. What PG are either of those teams giving to Dallas to replace Kyrie? Whom is expected to be 1a or 1b with Flagg. All their other players are 3rd‐5th options. I ...

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

Dallas got pretty close, that teams needed another shooter to space the floor against Boston, and Luka was a cone on defense in that series. The half court alley oops would be fun to watch for a few years, and maybe he can rub off on Ant and the others with his passing. I wouldn't trade much for hi...

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

Yeah, he absolutely checks a lot of the boxes. I think the question is whether he's point guard-y enough. We know he can bring the ball up and initiate sets, but how much of a thinker is he out there in terms of how he gets guys involved, where they like passes delivered, where are their "spot...

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

Ayo is young, can shoot, play defense, push pace, and is a smart player. Don't know why that isn't the slam dunk answer I'm operating under the premise that the team absolutely keeps Ayo. A lot of the players I listed can slot in at PG or SG, Ayo included. I also think Bones stays. A guard rotation...
