I'm not the biggest AP guy out there but he was a game changer.
Not the same. I am thinking more changing the entire game and not just changing the outcome of a game. The Packers complete changed how they drafted because of him. I think KG did that too. Moss broke the mold. I think KG did the same thing.

I should have clarified. Anyways both good players. I just always felt AP was Herschel Walker 2.0. Both needed an offense tailored to their styles.
Note: Looking back at stats I am not doing Herschel justice. He had more than twice as many receptions as Peterson and actually had 1500 more yards as a pro.

There is building an offense around a guy and there is also utilizing a player properly. What I remember the Vikings did not always do well with Walker in utilizing his skills.
I have often thought Walker and AP both did best running the ball getting it deep in the backfield and then making plays. I think AP has more ability to make guys miss though but yeah Walker could catch the ball better. To be fair to AP for much of his career he was playing with mediocre at best QBs and some poor WRs as well. No reason to do anything but build around a RB running the ball when your QB is Ponder. He also was still in a bit of an era where teams still built around running the ball. The problem with AP fitting in became a real issue with Teddy coming into the scene and the league overall had changed some as well.
Redskins are kicking his tires. It sounds like they are not looking to sign anyone, but want to be ready if they have another injury and likely anyone they sign is going to be depth.
Nah, you can see he no longer has the lateral quickness to make people miss, nor the top end speed to run away from them. He was amazing for such a one dimensional player, sucks getting old.
