Good read.

I am not a fan of a guy that can't get rid of the ball quickly and takes sacks/fumbles. I am leaning towards saying we should pass. Seems like a guy that would kill it with a great OL, but that is not us.

Also sounds like Newman wants to come back.

Coller always drives me nuts. He often does good research (like in this article) and often leaves out some key point that would have made the article so much better. Or he just brain farts and forgets something he should know or says something pretty moronic. In this article he says "the Vikings know what they have in Keenum Teddy and Bradford" no they don't. They don't know what they have in any of those guys.

I thought he made a good point with some evidence of Cousins negative plays maybe not being what Zimmer and the Vikings will be looking for. 31 fumbles...that's getting to the Dante small hands Culpepper area and Cousins isn't a rushing QB.

This isn't a time for pinching pennies but I've been thinking what is the cost for Cousins compared to Keenum or maybe another option? What if Cousins costs 30 million a year with plenty of guaranteed years and You could get Keenum for 15 a year with at most 2 years of guaranteed money? 15 million is a pretty big difference but I don't know if the gap will be that big or not. If the gap is 10 million or less that's a different story. What will the market actually be for Keenum? Would Cousins take like 24-26 million a year to win with the Vikings? It's gonna be interesting to see how this goes. I hear the Vikings are supposedly at the top of his list. I don't hear anything about the Vikings. Even if they were pretty interested it makes sense they may have not shown any indication as they have 3 of their own FAs and have some interest in keeping them maybe even Bradford as a backup.

I think they went with Bradford because he had a full training camp and when healthy is the best of the bunch. I would be fine tolling Bridgewater if we can and signing the next Foles/Keenum. I will be curious what happens with Bradford.

Love the Nick Foles discussion. If I am Eagles I am 1st rounder or bust. If someone's QB goes down early next year or in preseason they will be able to get a 1st.

The bar has been set for Kirk. 5yr/137.5M I can't see him topping what Garoppolo just got.

Why wouldn't Cousins get that much or More? He is more accomplished and sure Jimmy G might have that sedective upside but Cousins is the best guy on the market and there will be a few teams that want him. After that deal was annonuced (we will see how much is truely guaranteed) Cousins and his agent are probably like "Yep we are gonna get the deal we thought we would".

I think JG has higher used. Contracts are usually about what we think you will do vs what you did. If JG was on the open market he certainly would have gotten the biggest deal, but he never made it there. I think you could see teams offer more to Cousins and maybe that is what the 49ers were thinking. Get this over before he signs for more. For me as a team trying to get Cousins though this sets what I will be willing to pay.

Good Article on our OC.

https://www.twincities.com/2018/02/09/here-is-what-new-vikings-oc-john-defilippo-values-in-qbs/

Values he looks for in QB:
"character, decision making, timing and accuracy"

That points to Teddy for me.
