Further to jester's point about spring stats, Rocco has named his opening day lineup:

Very interesting article on ESPN if true. This is big problem intodays game that no one talks about. I remember last year Bauer purposley cheated and said look at my last 3 games I bet my spin rate is faster. His point was was why do you think everyone who goes to astro there spin rate magically increase.

article above is of him talking about the astros.

You are more I. Tune with the game than I am but I know I've watched and announcers that have played the game say everyone has some level of comfort with having some sort of additional way to grip the ball. Hitters are ok with it to some extent because they don't want the pitcher to lose grip and have the balm flying at their head etc. as the article points out they want the ball to be tacky or whatever. So the question is...how much is too much? What is egregious? Idk it seems like they are talking a pretty scientific look at what is or isn't happening and looking for consistent solutions. If one organization is getting a leg up because they use a substance more...yeah that's a problem. It will be interesting to see what comes of all this...

When is opening day?
What day are we clinching the division?
How many games do we win the series in?
Will downtown still be standing for the parade?

Anyway I'll change the subject. Who should start opening day Maeda or Berrios?

Did you get your Krispy Kreme?

Which series do we ultimately lose to the Yankees in? That's the real question.
The Twins losing to the Yankees in the playoffs is on par with the Vikings having the best team in the NFL going into any round of the playoffs.

Watching the spring training game today. I don't know what's worse Matt Capps the closer or the announcer.

Tortuga hit another bomb. Kepler hasn't had a hit but he hit ball hard all three times. Also Mitch Garver looks like himself at the plate even though he doesn't have a hit today.

Just counting the days till opening day. Btw if anyone is wondering how big of injury Eloy was for white Sox. Baseball perspectus has them winning less than have there games now.

Maybe we can switch to the National league like the Brewers did.

Dobnak signs an extension. He seems pretty legit although not totally proven yet. I'm really cheering for him to be a big success story for a bunch of reasons.

It feels like this group leading the franchise is doing a good job when it comes to pitching and that's a pretty big deal. I think for a while the Terry Ryan Twins were good in that area in their way but at some point it wasn't really a strength anymore it was a weakness especially when it came to top of the rotation guys.
