One of these draft night trades is unlike the others.
It seems that people tend to forgot what the exact deal was. So I copied this from ESPN:
Timberwolves get: Ricky Rubio, 2020 No. 25 pick (Immanuel Quickley*), 2020 No. 28 pick (Jaden McDaniels)
Thunder get: 2020 No. 17 pick (Aleksej Pokusevski), James Johnson
* Draft rights to Quickley traded to Knicks in a separate deal
So Wolves actually gained one 1st round pick by taking back a 30 year old point guard coming from career year. Based on Kevin Pelton's draft pick value calculator, value of 25th and 28th picks together is clearly higher than 17th pick. If Wolves had actually drafted Quickley and kept him, this deal would look much better right now even though Rubio sucks.
