Bennett can do that training every off-season and throw in some Hip Hop Abs if he wants to. He's still a shitty basketball player and I'm hoping that Flip has had enough. Decline the option on AB and draft our big for the future. Nobody would hate him for it. It's not like Bennett does anything worth keeping.

Who thinks Anthony Bennett can become at least what Matt Bonner is for the Spurs? I think it's possible.

Anthony Bennett is going to be a 42% three point specialist?

Think Robbie Hummel will be closer to Bonner than Bennett is, to be honest.

Re: Rebuilding time...who goes?
While I am about as down on AB as anyone, his age suggests that we shouldn't completely give up on him yet. He only played one year of college (unlike D-Will who had two - it does make a difference) and his rookie year was a total washout due to health issues.
That being said, I haven't seen a lick of improvement since the beginning of the season and I don't believe he deserves to be in an NBA rotation right now. He needs to be practicing hard, working on his game with the coaches and then playing only in garbage time. Ideally, he would get time in the D-League to regain his confidence, but I doubt that will happen.
I'm not bullish on his prospects at all, but it's hard for me to support just flat out cutting ties with him. What the Wolves do need to do is go find a lunchpail vet to replace Thad (it could end up being Adrien) and then challenge Bennett to beat that guy out for minutes by outworking him in practice and playing smarter and harder in the minutes he does get. May be something will click eventually.

Q, I like your idea of sending AB to the D League...he needs it almost as much as Zach. You say that he has not improved since the start of the season, and I would go further than that on the offensive side of the ball...he has clearly gotten worse. I have seen improvement on defense, and Flip is playing him now just because of the huge upgrade on defense and the boards over Thad. But his offense needs serious help...his confidence is gone. Just like Muhammad benefitted from putting up big numbers in D League last year, AB could too. Give him a week or two down there to get his 18 footer back (it was automatic at the start of the season) and to work on his inside game that was so effective in college.

Do you think Derrick Williams has been talking to AB? This Love trade looked pretty good before the season started, now it's looking worse and worse. I was sure we'd have Thad and AB fight it out for the starting PF job, but nobody wants it. I'll use the cliché, "wait until Rubio gets back", but I don't see much hope. Um, go wolves?

The point is it takes some dedication and to me that warrants keeping him a bit longer to see if he finally takes off. This is only his 2nd year. Calling for him to be cut not even half way through his 2nd season (which is basically his rookie year considering his health issues last year) is a bit premature IMO. It might make sense to give him a run in the D-League too.

Agreed.

Guys, are we really still canceling Bennett's rookie year because of "health issues"? All these excuses. You do know it's okay to admit he's just not very good, right?

Houston decides they could use one of the best shooters in basketball, who just so happens to fit perfectly with McHale's offensive system. K-Mart's game revolves around threes, free throws and layups (not as often as when he was younger). Martin could backup Harden and also play with Harden when he's running the offense. They trade us Terrence Jones and Jason Terry. We waive/buyout Terry so he can sign on with a contender. Jones is a very good get here, imo. Houston currently has Smith, Motiejunas and Dorsey at power forward. Perhaps they view Jones as a nice trade chip when he returns.
Wolves win third overall pick. Philly takes Okafor (they're going to have a busy draft night; Embiid, Noel and Saric at frontcourt spots already). New York takes the marketable, high-potential Mudiay. Minnesota selects Towns.
PG: Rubio / Williams / Lavine
SG: Wiggins / Daniels
SF: Muhammad / Robinson
PF: Jones / Young / Hummel
C: Towns / Dieng / Pekovic
I would be all over that. Make it happen. I am hoping Williams and Young are not back next year. I want LaVine to be the backup at both PG/SG once Rubio is back and hopefully he thrives.
