Wolves can't seem to get a foul call near the rim. Refs have an insane amount of respect for Gobert it seems.
Re: Wolves vs Jazz GDT
Back to back prayer shots from gobert and Mitchell. So unfortunate

Wolves competed from start to finish. That's all I could ask for tonight. Way too many unforced errors and mistakes for my liking, but they kept it close for quite a bit. Definitely didn't roll over for the Jazz. They had to earn it.

Give me Derrick White, Doug McDermott, and Alex Len on this team before the deadline. I doubt Sachin Gupta will make any significant moves with the roster, but that is my Christmas wish for the Wolves -- along with good health to the core five.
Minnesota's next game is on Monday so hopefully we'll have some players back by then.

The one thing that could be huge in these games where the Wolves are super short handed is it seems like Beasley is getting his stroke back and Mcdaniels is hitting the form he had at the end of last season, what could be huge for the Wolves the rest of the Way.

This was my favorite loss this year by quite a bit. We competed, annoyed, scrapped and had a remote chance to win...
This was a moral victory ?

I agree, Kek. I've viewing these recent short-handed losses as short-term pain that will likely produce long-term gain by creating an opportunity for Beasley and McDaniels to get on track and Nowell to get some meaningful playing time. Those three will be important to this team the rest of this season. And the short-term pain of tonight's loss was mitigated by the Mavs, Nuggets, Grizzlies and Lakers all losing as well. The Wolves remain right in the thick of the race for the 4-8 playoff spots with KAT, Edwards, Beverley and Vando putting Covid in their rear view mirrors. Hopefully DLO won't test positive at all.
The best test of a team's character is how they respond to adversity. We're getting a sense of this team's character through this recent stretch and following their 5-game losing streak. What we've learned is that this team will fight and won't quit. They certainly aren't intimidated.

Of the three players you mentioned, Alex Len is the guy I want. But I agree it's unlikely Gupta will pull the trigger on him or either of the other two. My question for you is who you'd be willing to give up for each of those three in what you'd consider a realistic deal.
Re: Wolves vs Jazz GDT
Dane Moore tweeted that the Wolves best 2-man combination by net rating last year was McDaniels and Layman...we outscored our opponents by 7.8 points per 100 possessions when they were paired. So knowing they were going to start last night, imagine my surprise when I got up this morning and saw Utah had upset us!
Seriously, this is one we didn't expect to win, and I'm going to limit my involvement to reading the GDT and reviewing the box score. I like the positive comments about how hard we played against a very good and healthy Utah team that still had to play Mitchell 38 minutes, and agree this was somewhat of a moral victory.
-nice to see Beasley to light it up with 33 and 7 made threes
-loved the season-high 14 assists from DLo
-3rd consecutive double digit game for Jaden
Let's put this one in the rearview mirror and hope for a Christmas present of a few negative Covid tests

I don't have the numbers to support this, but I'd bet Minnesota ran more pick-and-rolls last night than any other game this season. No wonder the offense was able to withstand losing four starters. Chris Finch doesn't incorporate much pick-and-roll in his system, but D'Angelo Russell has always excelled in that style of play. His 14 assists last night were no accident. Free D-Lo and open up the offense. Simplify the game.
