Woj:

The Phoenix Suns are finalizing a deal to acquire Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star guard Chris Paul, sources tell ESPN.

The deal sends Chris Paul and Abdel Nader to the Suns for Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and a 2022 first-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

Love this for both teams, honestly. Phoenix is going for it aggressively and they have to after how they finished last season. I imagine we'll finally see Devin Booker in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Thunder add more competent pieces that they can eventually flip again. I'd bet anything that Kelly Oubre and Danny Green -- from the trade with Los Angeles -- bring back first-round picks at the trade deadline. And Ricky Rubio is just a steadying force that's fun to watch. Who wouldn't want that?

I think this bites phoenix in the ass. If they do make the playoffs paul will start to trend downward. They could be really bad the next year and that pick could be rather high. Paul is no spring chicken.

Can we PLEASE for the love of God see Western Conference talent flow east versus Western Conference teams making all the waves with trades and free agent signings!

Charlotte, Washington, Orlando, Atlanta....can you guys do SOMETHING for effing once! Brooklyn is the only team that makes big, ballsy moves seemingly. Meanwhile the West has like 10 teams vying to win a title....or at least acting like it.

I think Phoenix gave up a lot for a 35 year old. Chris Paul makes them better for two years and if they aren't contending in that time, what is the point. I expected the Suns to make the playoffs even without the Paul trade. 2022 first round pick in a potential double draft, Oubre and Rubio who is 5 1/2 years younger than CP is a steep price.

I like the West being strong and prefer talent to go West. I was disappointed when KD signed with an East team. Some other stars have gone East like Jimmy Butler, Blake Griffin and Gordon Hayward. Lebron went West, but is there really that much disparity?

Some franchises (and fanbases) don't dig perpetual crappiness.

It's been 10 years since Phoenix made the playoffs. From 1977 - 2010... the Suns failed to make the playoffs only 6 times.

5 of the franchise's worst 6 seasons have come in the past 8 seasons (other season was expansion year in '69).

Maybe they're just tired of losing? I won't blame any pro team for trying to win games.

Per Shams. Harden wants out of Houston. Brooklyn and 76ers the preferred destination.

Can the Wolves do a 3 team trade and get Simmons.... let's hope

Paul looked great for them this year. I don't see him trailing off just yet. Such a clever, tricky player. He'll probably age well. The Suns will be good this year and next for sure.

I don't consider 8-0 in the bubble to be a sign of losing and besides Ayton missed most of the year and if Ayton, Booker and company are healthy, I think the Suns are winners either way.
