Josh Richardson for Seth Curry and 36.

That's the guy who was a deal breaker for the Heat when we were trying to trade Jimmy Butler?

Ok

Dallas picks up Josh Richardson and a pick for Seth Curry. Great Move Mavs and Tyrell Terry was a great pick too. Luka is on a rookie deal, so I imagine the Mavs will be able to be players in free agency this year or next. Dallas is on the upswing.

There are second rounders who will probably have better careers than our Number one pick. Sad, but probably true.

We need to flip Layman for Willy Hernangomez and then convince Alex Abrines to come back to the NBA so our second unit can just be team Spain.

I think its a curse the Wolves won the lottery this year. We could have saved money and probably gotten a better player.

So here's my alternative reality that could have happened tonight and put a smile on my face:

SIMPLE CASE

1. Wolves take Wiseman at #1

2. Wolves take Saddiq Bey at #17

3. Wolves take Isaiah Joe or Cassius Stanley at #33

RUBIO ALTERNATIVE

1. Wiseman at #1

2. Tyrell Terry at #23

3. Tyler Bey or Desmond Bane at #28

TRADE DOWN SCENARIO (my favorite alternative)

1. Swap picks with Charlotte for Miles Bridges and #32; draft Okongwu

2. Draft Saddiq Bey at 17

3. Trade 32 and 33 up a slot or two and draft Tyrell Terry

We can now confirm that Sachin Gupta wasn't going to change anything with the draft process. Still a dumpster fire.

This is NOT Tanguy Ngombo

There's just one problem with that scenario. Literally all our trade assets are now guards. Who's trading a star for 3-4 guards at once?

The bigger problem is that the star isn't available.

I do think they'll clear out the logjam to an extent but they are gonna play smaller. That's just a fact. It puts pressure on Vanderbilt but that's the kind of player they need to pan out. Maybe they go get a Mason Plumlee in free agency as another vet. Somebody from this team who is already here has to step up. That's this team's reality.

What cap will they have?

Jon K: Rosas said fit didn't play into the decision to pick Anthony Edwards. He stood "head and shoulders" above anyone else in their eyes.

Oof.

OKC gets Maledon. They added Poku. They have Shai and a ton of future picks. It will be fun to see how their rebuild goes.
